Dude, I get it—I’ve followed this creator since day one, and I actually really dig their work. Hell, I even supported ’em for a while! I got nothing against Palegrass at all. I just can’t stand those hypocrites who rock a suit on top but are bare-assed from the waist down, y’know?
Pirates are parasites/leeches and always recognized themselves as such, only in the past decade or so the redditbrained people started going around about how it's moral and the right thing to do or whatever dumb shit they post on r/piracy nowadays. When you are pirating you're depending on people actually spending money so it's common sense to not want to screw these people over.
Scene nfos were pretty clear about whatever cracking team encouraging you to buy the game if you liked it, tons of arcade dumpers (we're talking stuff that costs 1000+$) were usually keeping it private in a small circle for sometimes years before releasing to not harm arcade operators (look up TGM history wrt clones and jp community's reaction to it back then for instance). Rhythm game dumpers actively keep a long buffer (1-2 years). It's nothing unheard of. Actually recently some people broke the bemani omerta and there's a world where new dumps won't get released altogether anymore.
The community has grown increasingly entitled despite that fact, that's the real hypocrisy imho. You get shit for free and have the gall to complain it's not fast enough or "why the people spending money for me no make compressed/android version" and so on.
Denying the impact that piracy or complaining about the reaction from the developer to the consequences your actions can have IS the hypocrisy. (this is a you to the forum in general not you in particular). It's also a double blow because the way people act can push away contributors away from feeling like doing anything (just look at the ps4 hacking scene and how most of its big names just left and gave up because the community was annoying and acting like children).

If not hypocritical it's at the very least self destructing, be it of the community, or of the content creators of the very thing you're stealing.
