Dude, I get it—I’ve followed this creator since day one, and I actually really dig their work. Hell, I even supported ’em for a while! I got nothing against Palegrass at all. I just can’t stand those hypocrites who rock a suit on top but are bare-assed from the waist down, y’know?

Pirates are parasites/leeches and always recognized themselves as such, only in the past decade or so the redditbrained people started going around about how it's moral and the right thing to do or whatever dumb shit they post on r/piracy nowadays. When you are pirating you're depending on people actually spending money so it's common sense to not want to screw these people over.

Scene nfos were pretty clear about whatever cracking team encouraging you to buy the game if you liked it, tons of arcade dumpers (we're talking stuff that costs 1000+$) were usually keeping it private in a small circle for sometimes years before releasing to not harm arcade operators (look up TGM history wrt clones and jp community's reaction to it back then for instance). Rhythm game dumpers actively keep a long buffer (1-2 years). It's nothing unheard of. Actually recently some people broke the bemani omerta and there's a world where new dumps won't get released altogether anymore.

The community has grown increasingly entitled despite that fact, that's the real hypocrisy imho. You get shit for free and have the gall to complain it's not fast enough or "why the people spending money for me no make compressed/android version" and so on.

Denying the impact that piracy or complaining about the reaction from the developer to the consequences your actions can have IS the hypocrisy. (this is a you to the forum in general not you in particular). It's also a double blow because the way people act can push away contributors away from feeling like doing anything (just look at the ps4 hacking scene and how most of its big names just left and gave up because the community was annoying and acting like children).

If not hypocritical it's at the very least self destructing, be it of the community, or of the content creators of the very thing you're stealing.

Waaait we have a codex? :KEK: :KEK:
at least for the games i follow. The High quality ones etc. And yes i also download games but i also support more than 20 of them. either monthly (like this one) or with a subscriptiion for a new version of the game or which updates i am anticipating. And thats the thing. People like me who can not wait will buy them so there is a timeframe where these devs can earn money from it.

There is nothing wrong to wait at least a week or two before uploading it. Because if you do not this genre will dying since it is already difficult to sell these game since Steam also restricting access as well right now. In GErmany you can not even buy any of these kind of games no matter the platform. (Ecept Stuff like Patreon or Subscribestar)

The party is still not finished yet , and it ends with the annoying "black person from African descent " (not a n..ger) about to stick it up our tender heroine's ass.

You could read the header which would be an excellent clue that THERE IS NO CHANGELOG for the latest version yet (Since the official release has yet to be released and the version linked to on the first page is a leaked non-official release).

Aight, I’m going to address this one last time since I can see a lot of people are still discussing it.

Leaked or not, in a week—or even in a day—the game is going to be the same. The same people who waited will be able to play it, and the same people who paid for it will still be able to play it.

It literally makes zero sense to me that people keep discussing whether it’s right or wrong. It’s neither. You either support PaleGrass and pay anyway—if you see the leak as financial damage and understand that a leaked version will likely come with bugs—or you don’t play it, wait a week, and play it on the official release.

Whoever is going to pay and support will do so regardless, and whoever is going to wait will wait and play when they get the opportunity. That’s all—there’s literally no need to turn this into a bigger debate.

I hope this doesn’t sound selfish or arrogant, but after reading what PaleGrass has been going through in his latest update, I’m honestly glad this happened. At least one good thing that came out of this is that he’s taking a break and finally has some time for himself.

What the hell are you talking about? If I can find the game for free, why should I spend money to support it? Many people think this way, and as a result, PG loses money. When you say that those who want to support it will do so anyway, ask PG how many fewer registrations there were after the game was leaked. Please, let's try to be less hypocrites.

U should do a post in his patreon or subscribestar and have this convertation with his subs , not here in a forum where leaks and piracy are the main propouse.

It's just that Palegrass was one of the few who had protection and respect here until a few hooligans came along and started destroying it. It's one of the best games here and has a large following, as you can see from the number of pages. I hope Palegrass comes back and continues to share his game with us.

No, that's not the case. It has nothing to do with subscribers. Instead, I'm discussing the hypocrisy and the desire to clear one's conscience, which is evident here with clichés, trite phrases, and sound bites every time there's a leak.

If you can get a game for free but still care to support the developer or creator, you should do it anyway. All of you talking about “moral code” miss the point. As I said, people who can afford it and genuinely want to support the developer will do so regardless. The rest—the ones making this situation into something bigger than it is—are just random frauds who wait for the game to be leaked, play it when it does, and then lecture others about moral code. Hopefully, you’ll learn the difference between logic and online heroism one day.
