And curses don’t exist. People like to confuse curses with excuses for whatever reason. Guess it’s easier. So it’s great to see you want nothing to do with that word :]

I like to believe the same sentiment. Somehow though, the supernatural phenomena of curses, luck, and so forth have spiraled through human history.
What are curses? Is it a form of bad luck? Some may think that, but I believe curses to be inflicted by powers not caused in nature. So a curse, what have you, would be by origin, not natural, this ranges through human intervention and/or beyond by other plainer species (including the divine.)
Luck seems to be by natural causes, but can be attached to people/places/things much like curses. It's said, so-and-so has good luck. Probably assigned at birth, or attained by some fashion that the weave of fate would have, sprinkling good things in this persons time line. Where as a blessing, the opposite of curses but just the different side of the same coin, are attained by things not caused in nature. So again, either by humanity, or other plainer species.

While I don't think the game is cursed, people tend to look at the negative far too deeper than the positive, and this reflects a sort of "Cursed" motif around the whole prospect. But it's a subject that's hard to ignore, as it's been engraved into humanity for so long.

is a good example of curses placed by other people.

Nah, I was just kidding about that curse. I've heard of the curse a lot in this community, and I'm even tempted to include the word curse in the title of my game.


Gee, I'm sick of the curse associated with the legend of krystal games. I was supposed to make a game about re:zero, but I found a job as a 3D graphic artist and gave it up. I glance at this topic from time to time hoping for an update, but it isn't. I can't stand my favorite series of games being destroyed this way, so I'm going to do something about it. In my spare time I will try to learn programming and finally create a good finished game. I have no idea how much it can take, but I will try to inform you about the first progress when I have something ready. I encourage you to follow the profile, if anyone is interested, I will try to make the main 3d character this month to show you my skills, but I do not promise anything. At the moment I have to wonder if it makes sense to make a legend of krystal 3d. What do you think?
Taking this opportunity, I want to say that I stand by my previous declaration regarding the creation of the game. Yesterday I made this decision emotionally, but today I took it seriously. I can't promise anything, but I will try to prepare something within 6 months to see if you like the concept and if it makes sense to continue it. I didn't pay much attention to character creation, as most of my responsibilities were in enivorment art. and there was no such need. I started today with a schedule of work to reconcile my work and my new game. In addition, I made a few more important decisions about the game itself. Some of them are:
- The game will be made in unreal engine 5. I have experience with this engine and I had the opportunity to acquire some c ++ skills.
- The game will be made with 3d models, but from a 2D perspective. I want to stick to the original of the previous version, as apart from the mechanics of the game itself, it was done well from the artistic side. Most of the legend of krystal games were made from this perspective, which has proven its role, so I want to keep this tradition alive. I want the models to be 3d because I have experience in such graphics and because I will be able to use them in the erotic scenes that I am going to do in 3D. This solution gives me a lot more freedom and room to show off to create better erotic scenes (time will tell if they really are "better").

That's it for the initial assumptions of the game and I will not write about the next ones.. I just wanted to show you that I approach it professionally. I want to focus on my work, not on ideas - the time for that will come when the demo turns out to be a success. If any of you have any ideas, I encourage you to write on PW so as not to clutter this topic. I will not be starting a new topic about this game just yet, as I prefer to focus on my work than spend my time writing. Patronite will appear, but after I do the demo. Unlike some, I am not going to steal your money.

There is already one game that has tried using 3D models to create the SF characters and, personally, they look horrible because the initial presets are not meant to create furry style anatomy. Even Illusion's game editors don't quite get it right, even despite user-designed mods. (The best I could do was to create a Krystal loli) :LOL:

If you want to make something eye-catching, you'd have to team up with a 3D character designer who can provide you with designs for animations, poses and other movements.

The truth is that I prefer more of a drawing type game like in the previous game. Kuja did a great design of Krystal, she looked sexy, mature (As long as I could see her walking around in that plantigrade style, I didn't mind taking the pot 50 times to wash the river) :ROFLMAO:
Although obviously it's not one of the best character designs out there. There are some very talented people out there.

However, whatever it is you want to do, I encourage you. I will keep an eye on it.

My recommendations?

I would tell you to design a corruption game, as this previous one did. Have the character slowly taste the sex and give in to it with experiences.

Don't skimp on fetishes, there is so much vaginal, oral and anal play that it gets boring. Any part of the body is valid to perform a masturbation, for example :LOL:

Don't copy the existing story, invent your own time line.

I'm not a part of the team, what I said was purely my own speculation of what I believe. I believe people can put curses on others, sure. I will look at gypsy magic and witches/warlocks for that. And apparently that guy with a goat at the baseball stadium.

Edit: Off topic, but when a witch places a curse or does something with bad intentions, It gets reflected back on them at a factor of 3. It's why evil witches look haggish and ugly, they paid their horrible spells through their beauty.

Hey peeps, it’s been a minute, hope everyone is doing well.

Just wanted to do a quick update of the going ons of the last month or so.

A new Artist was hired to work on backgrounds.

The CG’s are going to get a big quality of life boost that should make them substantially more enjoyable. Dialogue, SFX, and the ability to have your custom character colors.

The May Update released for the high tier supporters on Monday.

Finally there’s going to be a shakeup to the patreon coming soon. Here’s the post that was made a while back.


Economics and Tiers
But now I'd like to talk a little bit about economics (It was a trap!), we've been talking about patreon and our tiers/rules. There has been a decent amount of confusion to roles, and this is an old issue. Time to solve it. However we've also run into an issue, Patreon takes a fairly sizeable cut of every $1 subscriber. We've been discussing the idea of making the existing peon role defunct and make a new one at a slightly higher amount. As it stands, patreon is taking around 35% of every one dollar tier, and it's just... painful. Since over 70% of our supporters are $1 supporters. This was a change some time last year, and now even patreon recommends not making our lowest tier $1: So I'd like to know what everyone thinks about us increasing that default tier amount. The smaller numbers of higher tier supporters actually provide us more income than the vast majority of subs being $1 supporters. () But before doing anything we would like to know what everyone thinks about us increasing that default tier amount.”

That means that the game has improved a lot and is very attractive or that they are worried about profits. They went from 2300 patreon to 1900 and they are going to raise the cost of the product.
What do the Patreon gain by raising the cost: Better product? Better upgrades? What is the logic?

Yes, the game does deserve to revamp its patreon.

The state of the the project today is stronger than at any point since I’ve been around. It’s an overdo decision IMHO.

I do appreciate the feedback.

I know you do, otherwise i wouldnt even bother anymore writing here. As a non-patreon, i can only say something about the public released builds.
From my point of view, its a laughable idea, if not a bold one. The progress from the two versions i played was literally nothing in terms of story. While i will say that the scenes were near to amazing in art and detail, i dont think it was enough to prove constant changes in the updating process or in which way it will go from here on out. Note that i dont care whats aimed at, i care for what is released; and i find it hard to imagine somebody goes from 1 to 5 dollars, but i cant imagine anybody paying if he knows the whole time frame of the ReReboot, so there is a great possibility of me being wrong.
Can you lure in new customers who are not aware of anything in the past? Sure thing, people are dumb and getting more dumb everyday.

I know thats harsh in a way, and before its called trolling let me explain why i think that. Its based on the two statements from some devs that "this game is something we love and want to see being made" and from the same people "we can only do it with a specific amount of money". Now i dont say any developer has to work for free, thats their decision. But i learned from my real live that even after a 4years long apprenticeship (?) my starting money was far lower from what i get know, doing more or less the same - why? Experience, Know-How, routine! Nothing i see from this team, though i wonder what happened to the Tripple-A-Game guy(s).

Lastly, something that made me wonder and which is a personal opinion, but after hearing theres a new artist for backgrounds, i feel like something is not right. How come you need one, if it was allways said that Kuja is far more ahead, bottlenecks are elsewhere etc. Unless that guy works for free because of passion or he wants to make a name for himself, i see it as a waste of money based on previous statements about progress. Asking in the same news (more or less) for more money... well, how would you say this looks like?

The only pushback I have is your opinion on why a new artist was brought on. And like you mentioned, it may have a lot to do with excuses made in the past to justify the slow pace.

But simply put all the Backgrounds, Characters, and CG’s would fall on Kuja to draw alone. It would be unsustainable to expect Kuja to meet that workload.

it's a pity of course Legend of Krystal: Rebirth 0.8 could be the first successful Krystal project, but as usual, someone wants too much.

My speculation is that Backgrounds are one of those things that are taken for granted. But when they are bad, or have clear errors (Chieftains Tent Entrance). They are super distracting.

But the issue won’t be about the quality, it’s about having more.
