Is there a plan to start a thread for the new game? Continuing the conversation here is misleading.

I guess it'd be better if the devs did it themselves.
I mean, the old abandoned one was made by someone else, and the devs motioned that they wanted a thread of their own they could control. Well, someone else beat them to the punch line here.
I have requested to take ownership via a ticket two weeks ago and it's pending, I also tried to request it here: https://f95zone.to/threads/lok-rebirth-v1-0-1-the-tribe-devs.75135/ I guess we just need to be patient but we're in the process for it.

I know that this project has not yet recovered its past glory so that as soon as a new version comes out, that version is filtered / published almost on the spot, as happens with projects like Mity or it happened with the abandoned version of it. But it surprises me that not even a single in-game image of the content or any theme of it (except for minimal anger due to a single pj's art change) has been published, either to discuss something or to report something like some bugs . Perhaps the 2485 patreons that there are do not know of the existence of this page or what? Yes, they may be relatively few compared to other projects, but even so, there are 2485 people and for that number, I am surprised that we are still only on page 33-34 of this post.

Kind of funny that they couldn't even bother getting the main theme to loop properly.
Oh, thanks for letting us know. I swear I tested it several times but I guess I didn't stay long enough to hear it loop.
It is noted now! We'll patch it with a next release in this point. We had our hands kind of full with several stuff to fix, there's always so much to test! XD

I spent about 10 minutes in the character creation trying to figure out why I couldn't click confirm. Turns out you have to click the "capture icon" button to snap a portrait.

The game looks really nice and seems like it has the potential to be good. A few problems I've noticed so far though are:

* The inventory doesn't persist across loading screens.
* Kay hovers for a few frames after jumping.
* Appius appears twice when talking to him.

One more thing to add:

* The memories are, to say the least, FUBARed. The animations don't align well at all, there's a lot of clipping issues, and Kay's mouth moves when it's supposed to be interior monologue. I assume this just hasn't been addressed yet and hopefully isn't a massive oversight.
Regarding the character thumbnail, I know right! I found it confusing too, I'll see if we can maybe rework some of the UI to be more user friendly. I also find confusing not having the confirm button in the lower left in the graphics screen for example. I know Kuja would like to rework the UI deeper so we'll see what happens, but definitely that's noted.

Inventory noted and I think Gizmo should have published a patch cause I read it on the discord at some point but I'm not 100% sure.
Jump, I'm curious about what you mean precisely. I'd be super grateful if you could capture a gif otherwise I'll pay attention to it and see if I understand it on my own.
Seems like whenever we fix a bug, two more appear lol, this double character problem was not present in the previous build and got added now (cries) we'll fix it.

And yes about the memories, the draworder would also need more love, and they were only partially fixed, if you see the trello I noted this stuff myself. The amazing dude who helped with coding that part is gone and when stuff was moved I guess stuff broke. We'll get it together, we'll definitely ensure this is not the case with future aniamtions.

Yep, as I wrote above :D it's up to the mods here now, fingers crossed.

Honestly, they really should have stuck to 2-directional models like in the old version. The diagonal movements are horribly uncanny, especially while running.
Hmm is it the hands? I was missing the right hands and so they look like T-Rexes. If that's the problem I intend to request yet more hands so they look less of an abomination and give them justice.

I encountered a few bugs:
-apparently this was supposed to be fixed for this version or I'm not understanding the trello cards correctly, but the pilot suit belt still doesn't appear in the front and back views
-as mentioned above, the soundtrack in the tents doesn't loop, it just cuts after a couple of minutes or so and begins playing again after a few seconds
-picking up items off the ground doesn't make the text disappear. if you hover the cursor over the spot where you picked the item from, it still pops up
-the trees you can interact with just float... like a cardboard cutout right above Krystal's head
-is it supposed to be night in the village center as a way to showcase the different in-game time mechanic?
-some text looks wrong. so when the white letters in the conversation are supposed to overlap the grey ones, in certain cases the overlapping isn't centered, so it looks like the letters are doubled
-also I'm not sure if this is intentional, but at the beginning some of the dialogue goes to the next line automatically while other times you need to click to progress, and during conversations with characters it just does it from the beginning to the end of the conversation

I know there's a discord where the bugs reports/feedback can be noticed a lot easier by you devs, but I'm pretty sure it's got thousands of members and I just can't deal with multiple servers. Sorry!

I think the same. At least I would go for the 4 classic directions like other similar games.

The diagonal directions are excessive for the character's position changes around the stage, even if it's 2D.

Well, if ignore all the bugs and shortcomings - I definitely liked what I saw in the demo version of this project ( I speak about this demo version - ). The avatar's visual and physics of motion are not badly done, and although of course some movements still need to be finalized - the picture looks as a whole - very nice. Although sometimes I would still like to be able to zoom in and out of the camera from the main character, but I think that the developers themselves plan to introduce this in the future.

A controversial point is the deepening of the game in RPG, although in general - with proper implementation - everything can turn out pretty well, but still there will be many complaints from many players that they will not want to delve into the gameplay, but will immediately want to get * the most interesting *, but ... Devs can't please everyone.

It remains only to wish the developers not to slow down the pace of work, and, perhaps, they will still be able to surpass the success of their previous game project that was abandoned. Time will tell.

P.S. It was especially amusing that player can feel like a witcher and rob all the chests around, and no one will even say a word against :)...

They felt more walking galleries more than anything, the twin orbs, the original, rebirth and so on.

So I look forwards to what the Legend of Krystal team can do to finally solve these shortcomings.

The porn is easy to make. If all we were to do was make porn, then the game would be done already. There is already mountains upon mountains of porn of Krystal that you can find everywhere, some of which is insanely high quality. We don't just want to be a porn game, we want to be a game in addition. We want context to the sex, we want weight and meaning. We also want a sandbox experience as well.

I think she deserves a good game, and I hope we can be the ones to make that happen. Something with replayability, something memorable. Something that you can play whether you are horny or not.

Shouldn't you actually aim to release something complete this time instead of reaching for the stars again and not completing the project due to development hell and nothing fitting together anymore?

I'm not aware as to what you're referring to. This project seems to take the blame for countless other past LoK projects. If you're referring to v0.8, that had nothing to do with any kind of development hell, that was internal drama with the team which forced us to restart from scratch.

Even so, development hell is not a problem, development has been at a steady pace, and increasing over time.

Internal drama? That's a fantastic omen for the next run. Even if those people are removed the echo is never fully gone. Well, we shall see what kind of drama or final nail in the coffin it will be this time.^^' Maybe it's possible to have none of that.

I've added the bugs that were new from your comment to the trello board, thanks for taking the time to write them down! and it's ok for not joining Discord :)

It's an improvement compared to the 3d version but still nowhere close to the original in regards to looks and animation especially.
I'm glad you found there was an improvement. I personally prefer the new version in terms of looks especially, and animation is my fault lol, again if you feel like giving detailed feedback I'd love to fix what I can.

Eh, I wonder sometimes about that. We're supposed to use diagonals anyway for combat and dialogues in the future, so it makes sense to have those directions. I personally enjoy having more walking directions, but I'm sure we can also just cut them if they're unredeemable. I'd still like to try to fix the trex hands before giving up on that. (on a side note, I hated the new graphics of that Monkey Island remake, the walks were hideous. I guess our tastes may just differ on this, which is ok)

I'm glad you liked it Q.Q and yes to removing bugs and finalizing things better, zoom, etc.
I should get back to work as soon as Kuja also sends new art, which is probably this week.
In the end I guess you're right, I'll definitely aim to do something I can say I'm proud of, although I'm also happy to implement feedback if possible.
And yeah those chests lol. Oh we're actually making proper furniture in the tends these days! It's such an interesting process to imagine what kind of stuff they'd use in their daily lives... baskets, shelves, comfy seatings... I'm personally a big fan of these moments in game dev :)

In my opinion it is very easy to explode the scope to beyond the moon and wanting to do all the things at once. So that's a legit worry and I agree XD I think for this reason that the next milestone should only be adding the pot quest and relative characters back in. I think a small playable thing with less features is better than a ton of buggy features and incomplete stuff. I'll definitely push for smaller scopes personally.

Absolutely, as I'm not involved in it, I'd rather not discuss it. And the best way to avoid drama is not giving it echo, so let's just stop discussing it, it's not important anyway at this point. I feel our energy is best spent in making the game than discussing that over and over. Like designing the furni of the huts! or finishing the starting quest :D

As a side note, a fully-working version of N64 Dinosaur Planet beta got released the other day. It took two decades to find that holy grail, but at least Krystal finally got some closure in that regard.

Btw are you not giving me feedback cause you didn't have actual feedback to give beyond the generic disliking the diagonal walks or maybe you were satisfied by the solutions I proposed in the reply? I just want to be clear I cannot fix it outside what I can wildly guess on my own, and you seem to be very passionate about giving us feedback so I'd love to listen to it if possible.

The Chief isn't implemented yet, but it's supposed to be in the next release. Not much you can really do in this build in terms of story progression, since it was mostly for setting up the groundwork

I didn't played the new version, but I watched the D4n0w4r video of her walking. There is still more work to do as it seems. There is any chance to see her feet like in previous game?

Because when I played that game, I was really impressed but this attention to her anatomy, and I already miss this thing. Also her walking was kinda cute ^_^

Yes, I don't know how many times I have already said that in the previous designs Krystal looked much sexier than she does now.

About a year ago I commented that the colors were much more softened and shaded, not to say that anatomically his body was longer and more stylized.

I've never quite liked Krystal's new design compared to the previous one, she looked much more mature and attractive... possibly the "non-greek" view played a lot in their favor to look like this.

The author made this design later to give a look more similar to the previous one, but nothing is known so far.

After looking at the first release, here some thoughts from my side

Terms of Agreement: Never bothered to read it, because my country is special in those regards. Funny to see one though, given the state of the game and constellation of its production, but allright i guess?
Redesign of chacters/optics: Somehow it feels odd and somewhat off in regards to v0.8. Can't pin it down, maybe chopo is right. For me personally it's not as good as previous ones in regards to Krystal, but not that much off putting (i played worse games). Couldn't find Eri, but good thing to get rid of the old hag from my point of view, lesbian yes, granny no, sorry if some are offended but not my taste. The level design with backgrounds are to put it mildly impressive. The shading and light sources were amazing, congrats to that.
Gameplay in General: From what was teasered, i would say it's on the right track to be "more than a porn game". Then again, who wanted it to the extend of such things like hunger/thirst, cooking minigames, running clock, hunting for food etc. Thanks to the Allvater there are options in difficulty to turn some of these things off. Personally i don't have a problem with doing more for porn (and yes, that's still the main reason i see in a Krystal game, particulary in this because thats the root where it's from, and after seeing the lost demo of the N64 game, i'm sure Nintendo thought so too :p ) but after the cooking session, which is in itself a great idea, i'm afraid of what's to come. Too much game in a porn game is in my world bad, too less is called Visual Novel - but that's just my opinion.
Story/Dialogues: Even if my despise for the writer on a personal level is so great, that the english language and my knowledge about it (which is limited) doesn't have enough insults to write down, i must admit that i'm pleased with the writing and the story. Well i even want to know more about that crash and what happened after that (don't want to spoiler even if it's not much). But as you may see in my posts, i'm far away from a native english speaker, so take that where you want.
The sexy stuff: Even knowing that it's just a demo with nothing new, i'm still a little bit sad. Sure, the internet is full with great to awful quality of Krystal, but i'm getting the feeling i found everything allready XD

I don't know if it's that the backgrounds are too big compared to the characters... or that maybe everything is too close to the bottom of the screen, but it feels strange.

Overall I think the hunger and thirst routines look interesting, but I don't know how well they would work in an adult game.

The point (which I also mentioned at the time) is that she is no Krystal... or at least not Krystal from SF but Kystal from LOK (i don't know what the difference is).

I've never quite liked Krystal's new design, but supposedly the new design was voted on by her patreons (us expatreons got our asses kicked as soon as we stopped filling her account).

The author made this design later to give a more similar look to the previous one, but it was ignored.

I know, I know we've discussed her new design long ago, after they showed us this sketch's . I'm not trying to revive this discussion, I resigned with her look and nothing we (not patrons) can do with it. But my point was about her feet and walk, because it clearly looks like huge downgrade to previous one. If her other parts of body is matter of taste, the legs and her walk is different story.
