Don't worry, bro, there's nothing new going around. They're making a new demo for two years, and that's it. They promissed the new demo to be released by the end of 2021, but as you can see, they also postponed that.
If you liked the old version of LOK:RE, I suggest you to check Pizza Hot, it's from the same dev from the old project, and the artstyle is similar. In three months or so, the guy already delivered way more than "The Tribe" did in two whole years.
And neither games have any penetration still. Sad times we live in.

I've been playing around a bit to give a subjective assessment of how I would have approached the different environments in the game. Obviously everything could be improved within the idea and since I don't have the original designs I had to design my own with some Kuja background shown here, so sorry if K isn't to everyone's liking. (Yes, I know, the tail is missing) :LOL:

In the progression event screens or conversations, which do not show movements, I have chosen to create visual novel style graphics, which would change according to the character's mood, giving them an expressive touch. It offers a different approach to the game's narrative, leaving the scrolling mode for gameplay. Texts have been enlarged and placed at the top as in the previous game.

Being a side-scrolling game, the eight directions are eliminated to leave only two, which reduces design and animation time that could be spent on creating more graphics. For example, poses for inactive states. In addition, depth is added to the characters by eliminating the full side view.

During the game, backgrounds and characters have been resized, the feeling of shading is improved allowing to show more detailed characters.
The horizon line and scrolling do not exceed half of the screen, and give the designer the ability to better represent the changes of the day on the backgrounds.
The interface displays only the relevant elements: name and level with health, and stamina. Time and day and lust level.

At the moment I have thought about this. In an additional idea approach and, of course, I do not expect developers to value it.

Good. After testing this... disaster that has duplicated characters, shown me black screens and other glitches, I'm going to do a summary of what we've supposedly been presented with here.

We start by having to download a launcher. If Origin, Epic, Steam, Uplay and GeForce Experience weren't enough for you, here's one more for your own porn game. Long live the launchers!

We continue with a home screen, and editor screens designed for resolutions of 480x360, leaving you a huge empty space, with small graphics and almost illegible text.

Once in the game we find an interface with unnecessary elements. I don't need an icon to tell me that K runs or crouches. I don't need the health and stamina bars of characters that don't exist. I don't need an icon that tells me the zoom level of the scene... Simplicity, please.

The lack of shading and gradients on both characters and backgrounds makes the graphical look flatter than a Game Boy game, and the animations don't help at all; they're stiff, clunky and feel like you have to pound on the keyboard to get K to move around the scene (They have insisted on using 8 dierctions in a side-scrolling game when 4 or 2 would have been enough to make the transitions smoother). Adding that the proportionality of the scenery and characters is null, either the environments are gigantic or the characters are small. Take your pick.

Cooking? Inventory with 50 spaces for equipment? What is this, the Sims? Skyrim? It was supposed to be an adult game that would be filled with corruption and fetishes, and so far I'm having a hard time seeing a vagina with such a sideways perspective.

The minigame where you have to press Q, E, Z, X and C at the right time is a blast, XDD. Good luck if you can use your penis to press the keys, you'll need it.


Seriously, how hard is it to follow the steps of 0.8? Seems like in a year and a half we haven't learned from mistakes.

Nevertheless, the dialogues still seem to be funny... that's something.
So this was the baby in your king cake, except you choked on it and it was a horrible experience! :)

The team recognized that the production was not perfect; but perfection has a cost and time was ticking. So it was time to release it into the wilds and move forwards. Done did it. :)

The team will revisit this whole village section again after the next piece where the space ship part is built out. It won't be nearly as complex as the village section. It'll be closer to what is going to be aimed at for production iterative releases.

The launcher: It's a Patreon thing. They want to connect it to your Patreon account so certain people can get any releases faster than others based on your pledge. That's fine... can't complain. I mean eventually you get it free; so... it's a whatever. :)

The text and UI elements are identified as problematic. They will be improved. Way too small. It just needs to get prioritized on the backlog. Additional elements in the UI will be removed, and probably changed up. For example when the bottom part of your screen is for "movement", don't put UI elements down there that hinder that action. Identified for fixing.

So... artistic interpretation is always open for debate. Me personally, for example, I'm not a major supporter of femmes who look like they are MMA warriors. This team however loves that look; along with the big tits (which is tough to get as an MMA fighter... I go on diets and while I'm not MMA-quality, I'm pleasant. One of the things that go is boobs in a diet... being thing AND having huge tits doesn't usually go hand in hand). But again-- it's artistic interpretation. If you LIKE it, cool. If NOT, well there's tons and tons of art out there, find what you do like. :)

Movement: The 8-directional movement is going to be going away. Going to stick with 4 directional movement, and conversations will have the 45-degree angle pose so characters can be more expressionate. Consider your wish granted in favor of speedy, less buggy development. It's in this tech demo because it existed... but it won't be for long.

Cooking is on the spotlight. It's something the team needs to decide how they want to handle it. And inventory, and a lot of elements. The game is aimed to be an RPG first, with a NSFW side that can be totally avoided in some cases, and even disabled if that's what you prefer. The goal is to aim for a semi-tactical 2D RPG with some porn-y situations. A lot of the porn side of things will be in the appearance of jobs, like doing this or that naughty job in different areas. The main story itself, and romance options, will have opportunities for sexual situations but depending on the players' settings, they will or won't be options, or will be black-screened away.

I had the same issues with the mini game. It's open to interpretation whether or not players like it. You can win it or not, it's optional. I also managed to do it entirely without the assistance of a penile body attachment! I must be super amazing!

Following in 0.8's footsteps... learning from mistakes... this is probably the most incorrect aspect of the post.

If you want to play 0.8, you should go download 0.8 and play it. If you'd like to see it continued, feel free to learn coding and build it. But this project is effectively done with trying to mirror 0.8, and it's going to move in the direction it wants to go in, which you should be able to see the roadmap for on the patreon here:



The team learned valuable lessons during this development. Namely that aiming for perfection and trying to make a game without following certain software development life cycle best practices is going to lead to less than spectacular results.

The team is focused on delivering updates every 2 months, whether they are amazing or not, to ensure that the game gets in players' hands faster and more often. It's going to be an ugly baby for a while, but that's development.

If you like it, you're welcome to play it for free or support it. If not, feel free to continue to bash it and vote 0. :)

The goal though is that over time maybe you'll vote greater than 0, and maybe your "everything sucks" opinion will change to "most things suck". :)

This is awesome. Also very much reminds me of my artistic post I did some time ago except I didn't use a slender character! :)

As previously mentioned, the 8-directional movement system added nothing to the game and is going away. It is replaced with a 4-direction movement system, and a standing-still/dialog system in the 45-degree angle. Stunningly similar to what you have outlined above! You must have ESP! ;)

In regard to your final assessment, this is another concept of opinion and considerations on art styling.

The game has a day-night cycle, so the day light and colors actually change as time goes on. Your example above would be close to your comparison shot at a different time of day. Also more vibrant colors are used. :)

In a video game, darker is not always better. But you do generally want to make sure that players know where they can click, which is still something being developed out as the game assets and lighting are created. You also want to measure the tone of your character and the brightness of your character against the background of your world.

In the example you provided, your character is tremendously too bright for the world around her. She would be much darker. You have basically created what looks like a neon plastic toy in front of a darker, lusher environment.

If you contrast that to the character in the screen you indicated, the tonal values and brightness for the character match the background, the characters also lighten and darken accurately with the light of the world.

As you can see though-- this is all artistic expression. There is no right or wrong answer. Maybe you designed your version specifically because you want your characters to stand out more, and the background is just some background that doesn't matter. You don't want people to focus on anything because they can't tear their eyes away from her power-breasts with nipple energy keeping them pointing brazenly skyward like a buxom femme fatale. Why focus on silly trees behind her?!

Also, you put your name and HP bar and stamina bar in the click zone. You've also added the name and level to it. Do we REALLY need to know our own name? Is our level REALLY that critical???

Probably not. Expect some major changes to the UI design, but not similar to what you've mocked up here because you're falling into the same traps the current team did by placing unnecessary, uninteractive bar graphs along the limited click-friendly areas for character movement and interactions.

It's not easy making a game, it's not easy designing a UI, but suggestions always help. Everybody always has an opinion, and as is the nature of opinions, all opinions are both always right- and always wrong, simultaneously. :)

However, I value the effort you put into your posts and I read them and both agree and disagree with various points you make. :)

Well, it has really been an initial contact shot of a concept. Obviously these are not the images of what is intended to be a real game, but a sample of what it could be.

I could give more graphic and detailed details, as in conversations, but it's still an idea.



As for the interface, I've basically simplified what they're supposed to show in the face of an RPG, of course I've got everything left over. The health and stamina bars, the icon of the day... And I would leave all that for the Pause menu.

Can you imagine a world where Battlefield 2042 gets patched and fixed, Modern Warfare 2 comes out, GTA 6 comes out, and they still can't release more than a Tech Demo for this game that they've been working on for like 4 years lol

The expectation built off of the previous version was an adult game. While technically, this would still meet that definition, I believe most have the expectation of a porn game with semi tactical RPG situations and not the other way around.
My question would then be, as a person wanting a porn game, is this really a game for me? There are ways to turn off the adult content and play the game, but what about the people that just want the adult content with other content to build anticipation? I think this is my struggle and if its one persons struggle, others have to feel the same way. Appreciate any insight as I dont wanna waste my time or yours.

This is definitely a good question and one that sometimes is nebulous to answer, and changes as the game develops.

As you know, there is a SFW mode and a NSFW mode. When playing the game, you can play it in either setting.

What this means, effectively, is that the game is likely going to be broken into some segments and sections, and identify how to continue to deliver the NSFW content.

The overarching goal of the project is to deliver a game in the vein of Knights of the Old Republic, except with optional sex.

What this means is that the main story itself won't necessarily focus on sex, or depict it, but rather it will be a more traditional RPG. In areas where there is rampant fuckery, it isn't something critical to the story and can be bypassed, such as playing in SFW mode, allowing the players to not miss anything.

On the other hand, there are many concepts going around about how to ensure that sex happens often enough. Defeat sex, sex through sexy jobs, sex through romantic story lines, and all the like. The idea is that there will be about equal parts non-sex to sex, and if you want the sexual situations, you can certainly find them quite abundantly.

The story though is not one about just sexual corruption where you become more and more of a subserviant bitch to your lizard tribe. You will explore the lands ala RPG mechanics and world travel similar to Fallout 1/2. You will go about being hero or villain along the story, however you chose to play it. You can also fuck where available so long as you do the NSFW route.

Another big part of the game is going to be a focus on combat mechanics. Combat events will play a big role in the game, and the goal is to make them as tactical as can be done in a side-scrolling type game with limited navigation ability. There will be a variety of weapons and magic that should be no surprise to anybody who has ever played an RPG game before.


So to best answer your question, as a player who only really wants adult content, you'll want to get through the tutorial zones: The starter ship and the village segment, and open up the open world segment. From there, the plan is that you can start visiting the cities as you discover them. Inside the cities will be a variety of jobs and other sex-related situations (the saucy waitress, etc etc etc), and the different jobs will have their own self-contained stories and advancements.

Some areas may be locked off by story content, but likely minimally, so you can go do all the fuckery-based jobs you'd like to do while mostly being able to ignore the main story.

Everything is subject to change though, but I hope this gives you an idea of what you may expect. And as a disclaimer, again, every plan changes as soon as it hits the battlefield... so these elements may come/go and increase/decrease in priority, while also shifting how they act. But right now, that's the goal, and that's the outline you should be able to review on the patreon for the roadmap.

So I know this is meant as a dig... but you do realize this is probably the goal of almost every game being made on Patreon, right?

Like you can go on Steam right now and find where Kincade, Wild Life, etc, are planned to be released and can already wishlist them. You can go buy Karryn's Prison on Steam right now.

This is like going to a concert and bitching because you had a buy a ticket because you feel like even if you didn't buy the ticket, the musicians would still play there anyway regardless.

You don't have to support the game... you don't have to buy it on Steam either, if it goes there or anywhere else. Feel free to pirate it as much as you like I suppose. :)

This is made by the primary developer for the 0.8 game, and he is a super cool dude who may be the guy you want to throw some money at! :)

I know Vlad has wanted KOTOR combat from the start, but is that really the best course of action here? If the team has struggled this much on establishing even the most basic fundamentals of game design, do they have any hope of making a competent real-time battle system? Now, I’m not saying that the RPG stuff should be completely dropped, but I would assume that doing something turn-based would be much easier. Maybe you guys should take notes from Alicesoft’s Rance series, or their most recent title, Dohna Dohna (which is pretty much Darkest Dungeon, but with porn).

Also, if you want to segregate the meat of the game from the porn, perhaps you should only have a party around when you’re doing dungeons or exploring in hostile environments. I imagine it would be kind of awkward if the rest of your teammates were always behind you when you’re initiating h-scenes without their involvement.

It is really TBD on whether or not it is the best course of action.

The good news is that the team is learning to work iteratively, and there is some serious strategization happening in regard to moving forwards. This both involves trying to explain what we want, how we can do it, and the reality of how much time it takes do achieve a goal.


In regard to the porn vs. the not porn, there should be a pretty good separation of content so you can get what you want pretty quickly.

For the party, that's still something that's a future development. It's very possible that in friendly zones, your party goes off and does their own thing and you can interact with them like other NPCs. It's also possibly they'll play puppydog behind you the whole time. We haven't yet gotten to the party functionality in friendly zones yet, so any suggestions are always welcome.
