You're not using JoiPlay, are you? That loads all files at once so when it comes to this point in the sequence it can't find the file, crashing the game.

I'm not using Joiplay, I'm opening it using the exe file. Deleting that seemed to have worked, and it moved onto the next screen with the all characters are 21+, and the Taiwanese independence activism stuff. I pressed z, then some guy said "hee hooo"(I'm guessing just start up sound?), but then this error message appeared and it closed itself.

Sorry about having to ask about multiple things lol. It seems like a pretty fun game with good pixel art from the pics.
I searched for any file named Game_actor or Portrait_stat_proxy, and nothing came up for either of them.

Wow it isn't working right for you at all. At this point, I'd suggest completely wiping your game, folder and saves.
Download a fresh copy to a folder you made yourself (for example C:\Games\RPGM\LonaRPG) and try again.
It's a bit late where I am right now but I can tell you that my game (0.7.1.6, drop here in a few days) works without error.
I run without mods or script edits and from a folder I made myself.

These are not files, but rather variables or functions (I am not a programmer and have no idea what they are called correctly) in the files. In any case, you should completely reinstall the game, if it does not help, most likely lacking some dependencies or your operating system crashes (yes, I personally faced with this, had to use sfc/dism.exe to fix the problem).

Last version i played of this game was 0.6.3.0 so starting up a new playthrough i'm looking forward to seeing what's been added. The latest version uploaded here seems to be 0.7.1.4 and wanted to ask if anyone knows any obscure tips for magic builds/runs that haven't really been talked about so much yet since i think that's what I'm gonna do for this next run through.

Bandit AI makes them go up to their enemy's face even if they have a spear (archers still keep distance, but there are no archers in that quest). This means you can create a formation next to the door of the room where Cecily was held so that the bandits can only enter one at a time and get attacked from 3 directions as soon as they enter. Order your companions to wait in the appropriate position facing the entrance and then go out to lure bandits to the room so that they can enjoy the welcome party.

Grey rat and Cecily both can definitely 1v1 bandits, the issue is if you're not careful about placement it's very easy for them to get stun locked from being attacked in multiple direction.

In any case, before directly fighting the bandits, you should try to sneak behind them and use rocks to lure them towards the explosive traps at the exit, which hopefully should outright kill a few and injure others.
