Why does she keep bouncing contentiously? You have no control over her when trying to jump
I didn't see any bouncing, unless you mean when she lands. The landing is a quite a bit sensitive, and maybe she should plant her feet with a bit more solidly. And perhaps default screen position for when she's idle, should be 3cm or so lower... like maybe put her head at the exact center of the screen, rather than her feet, and limit the screen scrolling. maybe have crouch be a permanent crouch until you stand up, instead of auto-stand as default.
How do you beat the blue slime boss at the last magma level?
you need to escape all the way back to the beginning. use dash. *a lot*
Hey guys,
could some one upload a save file?
I guess I'm too stupid to finish the magma-level
Save file to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\OctoPussy\Lorain
hope it works for yall -- this is the v69 file (which I got via Patreon). No idea how Unity does its save games. Please let me know and I'll try and fix.
When I rejoin and load my save game, I'm not sure why but it seems like in v.69 when I stand overlapping the slime boss, I'm not getting damaged by his blades or anything, and this was not the case when I beat him before. Seems like only the sex scenes will cause any health damage. Also on the last heart lost, there should be a transition death scene, or animation, instead of a "you died".
I personally think Octopussy did a terrific job, better than I could do, with zero art ability and mediocre programming skills. Controls were smooth, but not Blizzard smooth (with $millions in programmer dev and testing time). If you want to compare with something like Lost Vikings, and the polish they (was Mike Morhaine part of that... I should Wikipedia) put into it, I think Silicon and Synapse had 3 developers.
The no weapons thing and strategic use of the shield is a nice touch but ultimately makes the game quite difficult, even with the forgiving ledge grab "hit box". Platformers usually have that kinda thing going for it in level design. Porn platformers? The difficulty for this game is mostly in the level layouts. Weird tricky jumps and not enough room for the monsters. But this is kind of where the shield comes into play: Take two hits and find a safe spot to regenerate (F). I used my map (M) constantly in the larger levels.
There was one pixelated game I just played that was brutal, wish I could remember which game it was. All the levels were a solid brown and you was this tiny character, mabye about 1/3 the size of Lorain.
