I think if dev gave me the assets to compile the game and I started racing against him right now, I would deliver it faster... :(

The developer promised to make public releases every two months, interchanging Loser and SP2. But it is the end of October now, and he published each game only once this year. Loser in a February and SP2 in a May. Plus new Unity policy is literally ended using this engine by indie devs. There is a big chance that this project already abandoned or will be soon. Maybe, there is a chance, that will be a new one, on another engine - but this one is dead.

Is it really so F'n difficult to read a few posts up?
The delay has been talked about plenty...

'Promised'? No. Never did he promise to release on this pirate site.
He does release here anyway, and usually on schedule, but sh*t happens.

Unity... Yeah... that was a bit slimy, but name me any corporation in the world that isn't full of slimeballs and I'll call you a liar.
That one just got talked about.
And even the first version of changes was going to have minimal impact on the one person projects you'll find around here.
It was aimed at getting more money out of the mid to large projects (who can damn well afford it)
Then they walked it back... so it was even less of, an already minimal, threat to the little guys.

The same blah blah blah about developing is finished and only testing required has been posted in June on his patreon. June!

Developers bring their free/public versions to this "pirate" site not for charity, but to attract new subscribers. And he did promise to make public releases with two months schedule on his patreon. But he is very rarely visits his patreon (once per month now, was once per two weeks before) - this is why discussions are here.

And Unity - Baal already had a hard time with it. A lot of criticism were on his discord after he moved to it from RenPy. Now looks like a perfect time to throw out this obviously failed attempt and move on.

Unity changes have never been aimed at large projects, by the way - large projects already are on 2.5% share plan and runtime fee does not affect them at all.

Dude, just chill - you have no clue about whats going on. First even if Baal promised ... life throws you curveballs - and this is one of them. He spent 60+ hours the last few weeks every week ( all livesteamed) to fix the problems the game currently has .
So yes it is worked upon, but the refactoring on this version of Loser was more heavey than expected. Deal with it.
I doubt you ever managed that far

hahaha people think that making a game in unity is stupid or something like that, even games in RPG MAKER are complicated, the "easiest" of all is renpy

I don't think the project is abandoned, but I did end my patreon sub due to how late the update is and how poor communication has been outside of his discord, which I don't intend to join.
Ditto, I also found trying to find the test versions a pain in the ass on discord.

My bet is Christmas. Coming of course with a customary Christmas event, because that's what everybody wants, no?

But only if we're very, very good.
Nah this isn't made by that type of developer. I don't remember any of his games having any holiday events.

It's never too late to tread new waters.

I mean, he's remaking the whole game (because that's really what deciding to change the underlying mechanics after 4 years of development is, don't be fooled), he might as well make an event. Patreons love their events.

The reason why you change mechanics after that long is that it turns out they are not working correctly anymore. Because this was the first game you write with that engine and you made mistakes at the beginning. And unfortunately the one planned change brought a snowball of other changes. A change of that magnitude was not planned for this version.

Oh, but I absolutely get it, even more, I believe it's really good for the game. I only hope that's the last time he's improving the mechanics and will be able to focus on content alone for the next updates.

In short - I hope he won't keep adding new ambitious gameplay features, that won't work and will force him to review the basics again... you get where I'm going. Nobody wants new exciting ways to earn money with the computer, everybody wants new paths for the characters. It's a porn game, not a life sim.
