You can always choose not to cheat on her (currently and in the future), I don't want to reveal much but at least when it's the mc who's "controlling" the situation you will be able to choose if you want to cheat.
That "delay" that you are talking about is just how I do it, it's intended. Instead of using the first line of dialogue for the image in display I use the most relevant or strongest line in the dialogue block for the image (also if there's an action happening in that image). Most other 3D adult games scenes are the exact same render 20 times in a row with slightly different expression or pose (which I find silly, as it does when you pause a video and go frame by frame, it just doesn't work well in 3D as it does with 2D art. At least in my opinion). If you play mine you will see that my approach it's pretty different and requires way more effort.
I think people don't see the whole picture. You just need to pay attention to the characters and you will know the reason why they don't think (or want to think) about it. But don't worry it would be resolved later on. The same could be said about Justine. It's fun reading people trying to interprete why, that means we did a good job

You could decide to ignore Cassidy, the only two characters that you can't skip in the game are Kailey and Justine for obvious reasons. I think Cas is a really complex character, it seems that some people take what characters say as a direct commentary from the developers or tired archetipes from other media (like anime) instead of reading into the character. You don't have to agree with them on whats wrong or right, because the characters as real people have flaws and it's up to the player to decide what they agree or disagree with.
