Okay folks, here it is. I took longer with it then I originally anticipated. Mainly because I just didn't want to end it on a cliff hanger. It also needed some rewrites before I was happy with it. But it's finally ready. As always, this will go public in a few days, so please let me prep it for release on F95.

Moved from PNG to WEBP, so this release will be more compact, but with no quality loss. Not 100% of the time, but you will notice you have more control over sexy time in this act. This release focuses less on Lacey's mental health issues and more on the MC's issues. You've got to fall down a little so you can recognize you've got a problem.

For those of you who are only interested in On The Mountain Top; now that Act 2 of L&J is completed, I will be focused on the next chapter of OTMT.

Thank you so much and talk to everyone soon.

haha ok I tried this game. I kinda respect what the dev wants to do, but it aint really working. The MC is such a wet blanket, he should have left after 5 minutes into this game. The constant "oh, let me explain!" and he just goes along with it. Nah man, grow some self-respect.
But that is the whole point, MC is a otherwise capable and functioning man but when it comes to Lacey he is afraid and weak.
Fearful of being abandoned again by the person he loves obsessively and incapable of loving anyone else in a meaningful way, he suffers like a dog, disregarding his well being.
It is not the only flaw of the MC (you need a lot of suspension of disbelief to accept his flirting as nothing but creepy af for example) but it is the main plot point that makes him extremely unlikable to many.

Hell, aside from Anna, Kelly and Bradley no character is actually really likeable (yes not even Beth).

I had a feeling he wanted to complete the story because he couldn't find a good place to finish the update.
Good for us, let's see what wonderful disaster he came up with and if there will be an Act 3.

I don't dislike any of the characters.

Some have done shitty things but they are all broken in one way or another.

Eh, it was a great update all around. Already excited for what is coming next.

For some reason this one really has me hooked. I really love the writing in this as the dev does a good job of getting you invested in these characters. I think it is also because I want to see how crazy things can get lol.

Won't spoil anything, so refraining from discussing the update. But it was a doozy.

Thanks. ;)

For me, it's the opposite. Everyone is likable - and that's the main draw of the game.
//except antagonists, of course.

Let me start by saying that everyone is entitled to like whomever they want.

That said, sometimes those shitty things are a bit too much to be "forgiven", as usual the game is full of shock value so it is easy to lose the plot points for each character, so I don't fault anyone for missing them, especially if they did only one playthrough.

Let's take the 2 worst examples:

Mia - she abuses Lacey in college, no way around it, she admits it, she knows it, we know it.
Even when she realizes Lacey is just a broken doll she keeps going, pimping her to Isaac.
While Lacey was getting back home crying for days after she gets gangbanged at parties, Mia kept going for it.
Lacey later admits that one of the reasons she did what she did was trying to please Mia.
And lets not forget she recorded everything.

Now, in what world would you like a person like that? But I guess we could say that even Charles Manson was a good conversationalists so I guess he's likable too ;)

Afterwards, she actively tries to ruin Lacey's marriage without consulting her, the "game" (because this is how Mia refers to it) to push away MC and keep Lacey to herself almost works, this is a terriblle behaviour that cannot be excused, not in the way it was done neither in the utter betrayal of Lacey's trust.

And, wait for it because this is good, SHE IS HAPPY AND EXCITED that Lacey gets SA in the shower! She wants every single funny detail!

But enough about her, lets go for Veronica.

Veronica, after knowing all the Jared stuff, still collaborates with him.
Not only that but when Lacey is threatening to commit suicide (the other option was being raped) she is silent and happy to keep her job and position.
Who cares about human life, right?

MC then threatens her (which was pretty weak considering MC is rather whimpy) and even then she is passive and doesn't want to get involved.

Now, without going in on all the other cast flaws, can we at least admit that these 2 cannot be liked due to past and present behaviour or a pair of tits and some dirty talk is enough to cleanse all past sins?

Veronica I don't know much about but it's not like she helped Jared for shits and giggles, he had dirt on her. Of course she wanted to keep her job and position, name one person that would give up their career and financial stability for people they barely know?

Not a defence, but not enough for me to dislike her. I wouldn't risk something i'd worked damn hard for and require to keep food on my table either.

As far as Mia goes, she's as broken as Lacey is. She did a lot of shitty things in college but that was with Lacey, if she has forgiven her then it's not my place to hold a grudge for someone else.

She fucked with their marriage because, at the time, she didn't like the MC. She did it in a really shitty way but she did give him information he needed to know. I'd rather she did it before they got married though.

She's not exactly in the best head space and has trauma of her own. That being said, i'm not going to hate her for being stupid.

Mia is at least attempting to be there for the MC now so i'm going to give her a C- for trying.

Yeah I see, we have a pretty different set of values, I didn't make a secret about my job, my position is probably higher than Veronica's and I come from a household that for a time didn't have warm water.
If I had to leverage that against a human life or being a passive participant of rape, I know which path I am taking.

I can rebuild, they couldn't.

Maybe I don't understand enough about american culture.

I see that we glossed over her being happy about Lacey being SA.
But let's see: Your "best friend" after all she went through (abuse, suicide attempts, drugs to the point of brain damage), finally finds happiness.
You don't like her husband so you try to ruin her marriage, after said friend told you countless times that if that doesn't work she will commit suicide.

This is not being stupid, it is being evil.

Oh and lets not forget that the "care about MC part" reduces to 2 hugs and finding him another woman so when Lacey goes to the deep end he might not be alone.
Not actively helping Lacey, not actively helping Anna if we even accept Mia's replacement plan.
Just find him another woman.

I'll chalk it up to us having different integrity and life values because I cannot see it as you do.

I won't go into the whole thing but basically when I came out as lesbian my parents kicked me out of the house, I was 15. My twin sister came with me. We spent some time on the streets before an Aunt found us and took us in.

Sob story serves a purpose. Simply put i've had nothing and i'll never go there again. If I can help someone, I will but i'd never risk everything for someone else. Obvious exception being my twinsy.

I was referring to Veronica valuing her job more than a human life and the game in general.

Thats not great in my book, but you do you, everyone has their own set of values.

Hopefully a person about to die or being raped will not need you.
Or even a 15 yrs old child on the street looking for help.

I don't see how any of those would cost me my career so pointless to bring up.
