The above line from Anna and then MC suggests this is already senior year. Also, I'd need someone to correct me here, but if he 'lost a semester' in Junior year....surely he would fail or have to redo that immediately? He doesn't You would not take a lost/failed semester from the year before...after your final senior year. Sure as hell not here at least. So his lost semester, has to have been during senior year. It just makes far more logical, and narrative sense.

Honestly, if I were Lacey, I would have been pissed like a bee.
My husband, that at that time knew that I was struggling with addiction (help me remember here but the whole relapse disxussion already happened, right?) is just standing there like a dumb fool.
God forbid MC would be man enough to take action, even sex has to be served to him on a silver platter, but come on not even a warning, just vague hints about what and who could put me in danger.
I get it Lacey lost every right to be mad at MC forever and ever, but damn, talk about a provider and protector, this guy is half a man on a good day.
He's not even an adult, Anna is right in calling him a fragile boy at every chance she gets.

I feel I missed something when he was on the cliff back during college. She was talking him off. Was she being fucked while talking to him. Towards the end of the call she made a sound first I tossed it up as a form of sigh. But her rushing him then the sudden hang up leads me to believe she was fucking while talking. Did Mia make any remake regarding that.
No, she was throwing up, depending on your intepretation, Isaac might still be around.

So I think that Lacey's "I really don't know" statement was basically "It depends on if you decide to leave me or not"

That's definitely what that means.
But it just looks like pre-emptive manipulation to me, knowing he has seen her pics. Not actual fear. The threat of suicide by overdose is always in her toolbag and she is using it, subtly or blatantly, all the time. He asks if Mia's plan worked and she immediately places the burden on him. "Dunno, will you leave me? Because if yes I'm gonna use all these drugs you know. Just sayin." That's the very obvious implication in this convo. But she knew he wouldn't leave for that, he has gone through worse than seeing pics. Just maintaining control, making sure he understands the stakes.
And then proceeds to really work on him after he pukes his guts with her usual style of pesudo empathy (I'd have left if I were you). You would think someone with true empathy about that, wouldn't be threatening with relapse/suicide in case it happened....
I don't think the K is mentioned again. I assume she still has it.

There is also the other consideration to add at your point, Mia had her own version of the plans to share the MC, now she is included in Lacey sharing plan or it will keep trying to damage the relationship. While it didnt happen exactly as what the pimp envisioned, it more or less succeeded, hence the "I really dont know" could also include both points.
Just a quick thought. This whole deepfake thing with Barty is a bit far-fetched because, come to think of it, after watching the video with Mia Anna and Christina, Lacey can't remember anything about the sex part, and she herself says she took a large dose of ketamine. So why didn't Barty take advantage of this moment by inviting his friend Reggie over to really fuck her, instead of recording tons of stupid questions and then making a fake video? I think Prof wanted to do something shocking again in this act 2 and this whole porn empire thing really doesn't hold water, especially when we know how Mia and Anna really are when it comes to sex (especially Mia who is afraid of guys and dicks)....who the hell can believe in this story with Will who pretends to be a good guy and can attract them like flies in a spider's web. I love this story and I'm addicted to it like all of you, but there were so many other things to tell to shock the reader again given Lacey's past and her still limited behavior in the present that this porn empire story is really irrelevant I think.

That part I never understood either, I mean if my husband knew my best friend had tuns of drugs on her, he would told me in the first place, might have gotten mad at him, but then I would confronted my best friend about it. Also know if I had in past an addiction to drugs, which i glad never did, I'm sure he would have talked my best friend first as well and either told her to stuff that shit in the toilet or whatever and if she didn't, warn her never to come near me again or he would take other measures.
This is definitely a weak point of the story, from getting Barty involved again, to the top secret spy story etc.
I guess the author wanted to put a bit of lightness in a depressing story?
I surely don't like it, as I mentioned often there were so many hooks left open, from Lacey getting a bad rep at work, to getting fired, to finding stuff on the net about her college career, to actually use Isaac for more than another trauma character that speaks like a pastor on steroids, hell, even Will was still open, using him and Erica creatively could have opened some nice scenarios.
There was so much of Lacey's past to uncover, and the obvious pimp tension building up, either MC vs her or Lacey vs her, Anna too had potential.
I guess some drama in the friend group has been rested through the crew, but having the pimp in there defeats any sort of tension and feeling of "realism", Jeanette or Christine openly rejecting Lacey while making friends with Anna, Anna liking them more(or choosing to go out with them ditching the main party) again could have created conflict for the couple to navigate.
I will withold my judgment until act 3, maybe it will be an absolute banger with some good twists, and a lot of past uncovering.
This so so so much, MC is really written like a wet noodle, I was not impressed even with the Jared situation, but sitting there and not say anything about the drugs is really crazy stuff.
Literally nothing, this is why, aside from the pimp, the worst character in the story, MC gets a close second, he is a witness character.
So as of now we have: a pimp, a vampire, a bansheee and a witness walk into a pub....
I always saw Barty as the simp, he looked like the kind old neighbour/Landlord who wants the best for his friends around him. But in his mind he is the devil incarnate, it like I always said watch out for those who are always kind and friendly as they might have a darker underground then we ever know.
And speaking of Act 3, this one will be called "Learning to Let Go" I read a few articles about it and it's very interesting, what do you think, Deviant?
"Learning to Let Go" sounds like something you give your pitbull to read, so he can release the neighbor's kid.
