Very interesting game/experience that with the roguelite elements is pretty refreshing. Definitely look forward to see more, although like many I hope the game expands the scenes to show more insertion/positions (oral/more doggy)/more animations/riskier sex/pregnancy/nipples (optional or otherwise)? I know FlinPaltwell is fully entitled to do what he wants and enjoys as it is his vision, but I can definitely see this getting a lot more patreons (including me) with expanded content.

You can check my comment near the top of page 10 to see my in-depth take on this. But I'll elaborate a bit more, because it's clearly my most controversial decision (which is really saying something for a roguelike, cheating, softcore, RNG-gated sex game with a bizarre art style, lol)

For what it's worth, like many things in this game, it's just an abstraction. I still consider everyone in-universe to have nipples. I've even considered writing about nipple-play and whatnot during the sex scenes like I do with the genitalia, but I'm concerned it'd be too jarring when you can actually see the region in question devoid of nipples (as opposed to the genitalia region, which is always hidden).

But adding high-quality nipples that don't bother me is a lot more work than you might think. Given that the abstraction of nipple-less boobs doesn't bother me for some reason, I just opted for this route.

Suffice to say, I'm just making this for myself, and I've deemed the effort to not be worth the minor amount of extra stimulation I'd get out of it. Sure, it's nice when the Patreon grows, and compliments are lovely, but I prioritize the fun I'm having making this above all else.

I'll attempt to add nipples in my next project because I'm going to be revamping my style a bit and the workflow I'm considering might make it easier...but no promises.

Do what you want. If you want to have nipples in your next project then feel free, but there are thousands of games with porn quality nudity.

What I think is often lacking in sex scenes in these games is touching and kissing. The best sex I have ever had in the real world involved kissing and touching. Real intimacy.

Sex in a lot of these games is very mechanical and anything but erotic. The eroticism or sexual interest often comes from the teasing and build up and story rather than from the scenes themselves.

The lack of passion/eroticism isn't just true for porn games. It is also often true for actual porn. For me at least, half my time looking at real porn is looking for something that actual feels exciting and erotic.

I find the sex scenes in your game to be better designed than in most games as they often involve kissing, touching, and eye contact that is very intimate.

I am sure that doesn't appeal to everyone. But it is nice to have some variety and not every game has needs to be exactly the same.

So do your own thing.

Thanks! I appreciate that, and we are completely on the same page regarding intimacy and eroticism. Stories with casual sex don't even get me hard at all. In a similar vein, that whole "male dominance ego" thing where the girl's losing her mind and the dude is going on some fucking power trip and isn't emotionally invested at all...I just don't get it. Sure, I'll play up that Flin's great at sex, but you better believe he's having his mind blown just as hard as she is.

But yeah, that's really the crux of it. There are different paths to eroticism, and different things we prioritize. Since I rarely find the perfect stuff for me, I'm being pretty stubborn about creating exactly that.

That said, IF adding nipples in my next work is not too difficult and I really like how it turns out, well, it'll just be a nice bonus to have it appeal to more people too.

A few of those things are certainly going to happen, namely: more animations, a FEW really really risky sex scenes (at least as risky as the current riskiest, which is Julie's couch scene), and I expect like just a couple additional doggy-style shots....but that'll probably be about it.
One of my patrons requested a commission of pregnant Julie. I'll give you a low-res version of one of the simpler shots just for fun lol.

I may or may not include pregnancy as part of some of the alternate endings in this story, when the time cums.

This is the first time i've played and i have to admit, i really like it. Cheating in the male's perspective is so rare it night as well be a hidden treasure. I admit the no nipple part kinda threw me off but after reading your explanation, i can understand it. Although the face proportions are honestly kind of strange, but the story telling, oh my god, that gets me going.

I have to ask, is the risk factor actually working or is it in the works, i actually reached over a thousand and nothing happened. At all. Even when i flirt with kelly in front of stella.

Suspicion comes into play whenever you take part in risky sex, which you're not always given the opportunity for. You need to raise a given girl's "like" and "lust" values in equal proportions, while keeping guilt low, to have the highest chances at additional sex scenes (which ascension mode can help immensely with, once you've cleared the whole game at least once).

So for example, there's a chance that you may be given the opportunity to kiss Julie when you're watching TV on the couch together and Stella's sleeping on your shoulder. If you manage to get this choice, it'll say to you that your "odds of getting caught" are 8 times your suspicion value, because that's a super high-risk situation. Other cases may just be half of your suspicion value, but many are zero (the rock band tour stuff is all risk-free, so far).

Short answer:
Because I'm lazy.

Long answer:
My initial approach with this project was to abstract basically everything and let my imagination fill in the blanks. I cut a ton of corners in order to spit out a story/game I could enjoy. I liked how black backgrounds let me re-use imagery for a wide variety of possible scenes, while saving me a ton of effort.

But, backgrounds can also be really immersive, which adds to the enjoyment, so I changed my approach with a lot of Julie's scenes as a sort of experiment (I already had the house modeled). Lately I've been giving backgrounds to Amy and Kelly's content, and I had to force myself to try taking a step back again for Stella's most recent stuff.

I feel very torn between both approaches, to be perfectly honest.

Now if I might suggest something concerning the love stat and possible pregnancy , and you can totally ignore this if you want to:
Maybe from a certain point onwards, possibly after the tour, you could tie the love stat to a girls desire to get pregnant?

Like, if the stat is high enough, they might start talking dirty at some point how they want you to knock them up and, if the Love stat reached a certain value at the end of the game, the player might unlock a sex scene where the girls are actually ovulating and give the choice whether to impregnate them.

From there you could then actually do a few different endings, like maybe the girls don't know of each other but know the father of their child or something.

I've been rambling a bit now, but I have a breeding kink, so I might be somewhat interested in its possible inclusion ^^;
Just wanted to throw some ideas out.

If you can recommend any other games/comics/hentai/whatever that you've found online that checks the same boxes, I'd love to hear it because in my experience, softcore emotional cheating with a lot of kissing/missionary is almost impossible to find (I get really picky about a lot of random things, to be fair).

The current plan has some overlap with your suggestion. Basically, when you reach the end of the game, in order to get "the Julie ending," Julie's love stat will need to be a certain number. And her ending might include pregnancy as a scripted part of the experience, while others might not.
Unfortunately, it's not really a fetish of mine, so I can't promise anything. What you suggest is certainly possible, but I think a bit too high-effort for something mostly outside my tastes.

I could see the final stretch goal of the game being something like: Allow the player to choose "pregnancy ending" or "normal ending" for each girl (and/or harem ending). We'll see, it's a ways off yet.

Oh, well talking about wanting a baby is definitely gonna happen at some point somewhere, haha! That's just too sexy to not include eventually. In fact, I think I've already made some light references to the idea during some of the climaxes, talking about "mixing our genetic code" and things like that.

I've decided to stop giving time estimates because of how slow things have been these past few months. My best work always comes when I'm stoked about what I'm doing, and sometimes I need a long break for that interest to make a resurgence. This is nothing new; I worked on the game for 3 years in secret, and more than once I took breaks that lasted multiple months before coming back with a vengeance. I still think about it and look at the code literally every day, though. And I still try to update the Patreon at LEAST twice a month, even if it's just with fun side ideas I had.

What I can say is this: the next update will not be done within the month, unfortunately. However, it's going to be a much more substantial update than I initially thought. Aside from a bunch of stuff with a brand new girl (no more new girls after this), there will also be some new content for Amy, Kelly, and Julie (new scene with Stella too, but no new imagery for her).

No, ascension stats should be fine. Old saves can actually work fine for a while, they just inevitably run into a reference to something new, and it crashes. But ascension stats aren't stored in save files, they are persistent values.
