This game remains rather grossly underrated, for reasons I find interesting but somewhat baffling. It's a highly creative, unusual project. Keep it up, Dev!

Well, that's the thing. I'm trying to plan ahead, since I want to get out the "Sound Update" sometime soon. But that's going to be a very extensive update, one that's honestly difficult to predict the timeline of.
So I was thinking, I'd start working on the sound update now on the side, while churning out the next two smaller updates. This means they'll each take longer, but in return we don't wind up with a multi-month dry spell where I'm just working on the sound update.
There's also miscellaneous quality-improvement things I'd like to work on that I'll probably throw into these updates.
All this to say, I'd guess 3-4 weeks on the upcoming Stella update (including some improvements to earlier stuff), and then 3-5 weeks on the following one. With any luck, that'll mean the sound update can be done within a month following all that.
These are very, very rough guesses. Composing music is so difficult to predict. You can write a song in a day or a week. But there you have it.
If you have an old save, and you get an error saying Chapter 8 is undefined, then use Unren to enable console, and use the following command in the console (shift + o).
Chapter8 = ["JulieTour3", "JulieTour2", "ConcertConvo1"]
It should then progress normally.

Actually, they're mostly 3D models rendered to look like drawings. But you're right, there's a lot of detail I've opted to skip.

The "first generation" of models used an add-on for the source mesh (which was then edited heavily), while the second generation was mostly made from scratch (I carried over the heads, and used a video game model as a reference for some elements). The hair was made completely from scratch.

I've been playing this game since the first update, and I gotta say that this game has one of my favorite fetishes in reluctant cheating. Love the work you've been doing on this game!
One problem I noticed though, is that the saves don't persist through updates. It always ends up crashing after loading a save from the previous version causing a restart. It wasn't that problematic before since I could skip through, but it is getting long enough that it's something you want to address.
That said, there's not enough games with this kind of cheating content, so whatever games that do end up being one of my favorites. Keep up the good work!

I hear what you're saying. But there are two big reasons why I haven't really opted to care very much:
1. The game is meant to be replayed.
It's also meant to be reset. There's alternate dialogue if the band tour sex sequences are your first time with that person. When I release a patch two months later, do you remember what happened on your current run? I guess I'm saying I don't really mind forcing a re-run, even if you're skipping, so the flavor of your current run is fresh in your mind.
In a similar vein, I recommend actually playing through the game slowly now and then, even if it sounds tedious, as it's intended to immerse you in that innocent state of mind before ramping up to more. My favorite playthroughs are the ones I have the patience to take slowly.
Counterargument: It'd be great if players didn't have to do that, though. And I agree. But Point 2.
2. The game's design makes it hard to code it so it wouldn't break.
My VN has an issue that any traditional VN won't have: The order of most events are randomized.
Chapters and their events are initialized and shuffled at the beginning, so in order to avoid a patch breaking them, I'd need to either put in dummy versions of EVERY single event I ever plan to write ahead of time, or get messy with my code and start re-defining chapters in the middle of the game (ugh. Wasted, repeated code just to account for broken saves. Definitely not worth the accidental bugs that could cause).
And there are other ideas that can break the game too. New outfits, new characters, and anything else that requires a variable I didn't have the foresight to define.
So really, it comes down to me wanting the freedom to cleanly design the game as I go, without having to frontload every idea I'll ever have. I know that spending 3-5 minutes skipping for a new patch is annoying, but I guess I just deem that "worth it." If it makes you feel any better, I have to do it too lol.

Having said all of this, it still bears consideration! If I can come up with an idea that I think will work and be easy to implement, I'll do it. But I just can't promise anything. Sorry for the long post.

Dev if you read this I hope you can tell me why you choose soft core with no nips and no genitals for your game because despite that it's great in my opinion and I would guess it would be even better if it had the things you left out like nips and genitals. P.s I love the game also sorry if you answered this already

No prob! I know, it's weird as fuck, right?
The short answer I've given in the past is, "to cater to my niche preferences." If this answer is enough for you, you can skip the wall of text below, but it's an interesting subject to me so I'll elaborate.

The longer answer: I don't like seeing genitalia, and I tend to dislike seeing nipples. In my experience, I'd say over 90% of hentai nipples that I see just fucking bother me, lol. Too exaggerated, or poorly drawn, to the point where it's actually a turn-off for me. There is a particular high-quality style for nipples that you'll see in AAA Japanese VN's that I can totally enjoy, but also...
...All my favorite sexual acts involve hiding the nipples anyway, because they're either pressed against the dude's chest or being groped. I've seen shots where the nipple is like, peeking out from between the guy's fingers as he's groping, and I just don't care for it for some reason. I derive my stimuli from more of a self-insert into wanting to feel her nipples rather than wanting to see them. I think the same holds true for the genitalia, which is why I don't have a problem describing what's going on down south even when I don't show it.
Also, I derive almost all my arousal towards boobs from their curvature and shape, not really from the nipples. It kinda regularly surprises me how alone I feel in that regard, as it seems everyone digs the look of a curvy lady in normal clothes, who's nipples you can't see in the slightest because she's wearing a bra.
Finally, tone! Tone is everything to me. Why do I hate so much of porn/hentai? Their vulgar, cheap-feeling tone. I don't want to disparage anyone else's tastes; if you're into porn like a normal person, that's fucking awesome and I'm envious of you! But for me, I just can't stand how crude and vulgar things immediately get in the world of porn. Softcore stuff has a much more tasteful take on it, but also doesn't go far enough.
Anyway, I'm actually thinking I'm going to try to include nipples in my next visual novel, provided I can get them looking good enough, but they'll still probably be hidden as often as they are here (being pressed against something), and I'm still very unlikely to show genitalia in anything I ever do lol. But you never know. Tastes do seem to gradually, slowly change sometimes.

In my opinion you've done great so far and even without the nips and genitals you're game is better then a lot of games that have them. Also I believe dialogue is an undervalued thing in porn games cuz for me feeling like a character is real and has emotion makes the sex scenes even better and makes the intimacy of the moment stronger and so far like I said you've done great. Another thing I think will be good is incorporating more sex positions and I did read the part where you said missionary will play a big role in this game which is your taste that's fine but a little doggy and riding scenes here or there can really spice up the game but at the end of the day that's just my opinion so keep doing what you enjoy and I'll just enjoy the game. P.s keep up the good work.
