It was an unofficial thing. The modder didn't just change a few variables around, they actually had to rewrite significant sections of the script to make it work.

after playing this game years later, and after the developer using all his original images up from RPGM game. I gotta say I hate the AI art that comes in later chapters. the original art is so much better. wish he never used AI art to finish this game. worries me about S3.

Yes, back in the RPGM version I could still understand how the story was going but then somewhere around the middle-late part of the story, there's so many characters being introduced and pointless sex scenes with only miniscule ties to the main story.
And don't get me started on the use of AI CG, sure it makes the worklflow smoother and reduces production for the final product, but the end result is whatever the fuck they put in the game around chapter 6 - 8, a pure disconnection to the rendered art they were going for and it's nauseating. Also the NTR DLC? don't even call that a DLC. It was just removed content added back in and a few AI CG scenes that ruins the whole mood the game was trying to set in the beginning.
I've been seeing this trend of cashgrab kickstarter patreon games that's been ongoing for 4+ years using AI to finish haphazardly and advertise it as a finished product. Maybe trying to milk content for that long really puts a strain on them I guess.

I think the RPGmaker version was abandoned before the AI art became noticeable. I could be wrong though.
