Then you're not pursuing hard enough. Took me less than 2 weeks to get to 53% LP (106 love points). And that is without even coming close to maximise LP. That is on normal difficulty, without cheats.
And considering that much of Cassidy's side story is just waiting around for god-knows-how-long until things just sorta happen (then, rinse and repeat), it feels even more like a loss to remove said feature.

Though to be fair, in most games of this kind, it's better (not necessarily more rewarding but less stressful) to first grind stats and money before you really follow the girls. That doesn't have to be like that, but I can see how some players will be surprised to be asked for a certain amount of speed.

So what you are saying is that it's boring to have to wait 2 or 3 game days for something to happen in a specific line of events. There is absolutely nothing else to do, no other relationships to work on. No reason for living unless everything happens one turn after another.
Some events happen after 2,3, up to 7 days later assuming the conditions are met
