Nah, I'm just irritated by shoddy/lazy work. This could be a competent game with some basic polishing.
This is a copy/paste of their previous game, but with some basic find and replace work. They didn't even remove references to the skill tree (not in this game), from what I remember.
Barely functions in a number of places, cutscene writing is so awful that I don't even know if I can skip cutscenes (couldn't stop staring at it, but now I think about it, I remember having to spam click through it), sound effects frequently stack to be deafening, end level is an unbelievable ask of the player...
I don't even understand
WHY I was taking damage when I wasn't lockering anyone on some of the levels, because the game just never conveyed the reasoning. It has a "beastiary", and somehow that wasn't explaining why
existing was damage inducing. Tried multiple experiments, never worked it out, couldn't be bothered to decompile the game to dig out the reason.
So much of this game boils down to sucking up time to get outside of the 2 hour refund period. Especially the final level, which... Wow. Clear your fucking schedule for
that one.
Last level is just unmitigated, unapologetic grind, made unnacceptable by randomly taking damage, so it's not like you can just treat it like an idle clicker, which... Isn't that kind of what it wants to be? Then there's the locker petrifying...
Everything about it is a poor clone of a fairly mediocre game.
Play their other one, it's much better, that one also struggles to convey gameplay concepts, but it's extremely occaisional by comparison, and extremely forgivable.
