I really like the concept of this game, the huge variations the dev pretend to put on this is good to see but for now is a really simple game with some interesting gameplay mechanics, however it's worth taking a look.

(PS: just saying v32 is out on his blog)

eroico was nice, i hope this one will be longer though.
Even though the time investment isn't that much (I think the dev once said he works twice a week on the game), it certainly looks like a lot of planning went into and is being made for the game. By that alone it seems it will be longer than Eroico (this thread isn't that long, there are more comments on his blog and also posts about things he is working on or planning for the future).
Though in the end, let's see what the future holds for us.

I don't think he's going to be working on Mac support for a while if at all. Indie developers usually don't bother with that platform.
What I would recommend you doing is setting up a virtual machine with windows and using that to play.

Activating voices while the cat dominates you breaks the game. I'd advice to disable them quickly if you get caught by the cat.

Runs perfectly under WINE with no special configuration for me on linux, it should work on mac.
I usually use WINE for a lot of the games I play on my Mac but there are a few games that don't end up working on it. For some reason this just so happens to be one of the games that doesn't work.

cose its 1st button ever to enter menu/options? ALWAYS? IN EVERY FUKIN SINGLE GAME EVER CREATED?
In most games, one of the main exceptions being those game without a menu (or which have another keybind for it).

It's basically still the beginning of development, so without any menu there has to be a fast way out of the game... I mean, that key isn't named ESCAPE for no reason.

don't fucking care when 90% of games use esc as opiton menu and not close the fucking game its not a good reason to have it be this way
Like I said, for what else could ESC be used if there isn't any menu yet? You reasoning falls off at that point, since you name no alternative to that. Is it used for nothing then? How can you easily close the game without a menu (and without using the windows combination alt+F4)?

You shouldn't bring up a point and then say you don't care about other opinions.

>game for a version i think its 0.19 its still feels like a demo for some reason.

Because 0.19 is clearly a demo number?

Don't let F95 trick you, anything less than version 1.00 is always a demo or a beta. 0.1x is fucking nothing.
Fucking this. I don't understand people that expect a finished product on v0.1.78. Like, that's supposed to be when basic functions and placeholder assets are implemented. If the game has more complexity than a VN, then the dev(s) should focus on making mechanics and user experience optimizations before even thinking about implementing final art and assets. Once That shit is fluid as fuck (which should usually be done by like v0.8), then finalization via art, dialogue fixtures, and music should be implemented.

Do I hold this standard to the devs featured in f95? No, a majority of them are amateurs or people looking to make a quick buck. But when you see a game that has interesting mechanics or ideas that really make you think but the aesthetic qualities are meh and it's only at v0.2, then I believe it should be looked at by more people. If their focus is in the right spot of where the interactivity of a game lies, then they know what they want and just might need a push to continue that venture.

Again, if it's a 3DCGVN then whatever. Those editors are pretty user friendly and people seem to not want anything more out the experience than to show off their art, direction, story writing, modeling quality, and the ability to make a couple dollars with a day's worth of work. They have the ability to do all kinds of cool shit in VN editors, but often lack the experience or drive to try anything different. The only game that immediately comes to mind when I try to think of typical VN software used to create more interactive experiences is Summertime Saga. Mini-games and puzzle solving add user engagement and depending on the quality of them user enjoyment.

If it's an RPGM game, it has potential. RPGM has the ability to make really nice immersive experiences with the right level design, player character usability, sound design, and an incredible amount of possible variables the player can tweak for gameplay and user experience. It also houses everything the 3DCGVN had going for it, but realizes it better with added default interactivity other than a forward, fast forward, save and load feature. I prefer the RPGM games that involve more complex actions than just the turn-based combat, but I think any game developed in RPGM should at least make use of the features. The games developed in RPGM but are only used to develop basic VNs are disappointing.

But the shit made in Unity and Unreal, goddamn. That shit has actually limitless potential. Those are the games I think are worth having patience for if developed by people that have any actual interest in the project they're working on. I normally check to see if a unity or Unreal game have mechanics that feel or have an interesting conception before writing it off my expectations list. You can make anything in these programs and it's such a waste to see people just dump asset flips into a scene, make a dozen sex poses, screenshot them, paste them into a slideshow, add text, then charge $0.99 for it.

I hate how f95 has sculpted peoples brains into expecting shit at an early stage. But I also can't blame them. A lot of the game devs are also the lead artists, and they don't want their early shit to look poor and displease their Patreon community. A lot of times I see final-quality art in a game that has as much depth as the characters they draw. If they were to take game development seriously, then they wouldn't have to worry about that shit until months after creation. Because even if they had a person to make finalized art as they developed later parts of the game, they might come back and scrap a shit ton of work the artist did and it wouldn't see the light of day (unless the artist isn't contractually obligated to keep all developmental art assets out of the public eye, then they could just post that shit to Twitter or something).

In conclusion, don't expect final looking work from a project if it's under v0.9. If you are, then you'll probably be disappointed in what you see. Although creators will often have terrible direction on how to develop their work, a game shouldn't be critically judged until it's finished. It should however be critiqued while in the forming stage to bring ideas on ways to make the work more interesting and fun. But with all I've said, this is a porn forum. No matter how much I'd like everyone to be civilized, we're all horny and just looking for shit to get off to. While I like my interactive porn to be complex and fun, a lot of people are content with basic stories with anime or 3DCG visuals.

So, I hope whoever's reading this a good time. I hope my small essay on the my complicated feelings towards expectations in the f95 h-game community hasn't made you completely lose your hard-on.
