How so? I personally want to see lezdom content between Alice and Lei, just like others here want to see professor banging Alice or the rapey stuff with Tom. If it's not your cup of tea, please just ignore my comment.
That's fine! I, for one, have absolutely no problem with that, and would like to see all of those things. But you did come across as a bit frantic, and now somewhat defensive. So perhaps you do need to settle down. It IS just a game.

Being told it's just a game now geez, did I really come across that "frantic"? My mistake then. This thread has gone kinda dead since the updates are long in between so my intention was simply to chime in with something to keep the flow going. I don't think my comment was anywhere close to the level of horny talk I've seen at F95, but I don't mind deleting it regardless.

Nah, leave it there. You've explained yourself.

Your comment was perfectly fine and normal. People reacted strangely and blew it up to something it wasn't for some reason.

Damn, this game is amazing. I was honestly so disappointed by Our red string, since I loved Gggb... And this game looks like it will be the better version of what I was waiting for. Thank you Dev and I hope that you'll have the same or even more success than Evakiss.

Same. I felt like GGGB had a ton of well-paced prospective paths to go down, Red String feels like you're railroaded into only a few questionable paths and if you choose to decline them you just destroyed like 5 chapters of forced pacing towards that path and nothing really left. This game already feels more free flowing and organic like GGGB but with insanely good art and better written casual dialogue.

AFAIK, there's just her Instagram linked in the OP. That's the information she's shared on Patreon, too.

That's marketing 101 put into practice.
Yeah, when this game was first put out on the site her instragm link in the description even had a little note (guys, check it out!!!) Egh. I'm glad that the cringe has finally settled and people started judging the game instead of the dev's nudes.

Okay, my thoughts so far. The game seems pretty damn amazing honestly, but given the high rating the game has I shouldn't really need to point out the obvious too much. The only feedback I have so far is minor, and I don't even know if the dev uses this forum so it might very well not be heard at all which is kinda eh I suppose. As I was saying though, I wish it was possible to re-name Alice to something else. I get that some authors/devs like that their character has a set name and I'm a firm believer in them having the right to do so, and I'll always support that decision if the author/dev sees it as part of their vision for the game. It just happens to be a strong preference of mine if I can give the protagonist my own first name, since it makes getting into the character, and by extension the game a lot easier for me. As I said, a relatively small piece of feedback that's likely to not be worth a ton.

On the note about the Instagram and picture thing, I'm neutral. Whether it's a catfish or not, it isn't unheard of that some hot people take up a hobby, passion or profession, that is typically associated with people who are stereotyped as being ugly or mediocre by societal standards. Doctor Mike (Completely unrelated to this scene obviously) had a video wherein he talked about this in regards to hot doctors and nurses, and it does show us that the world is fascinated by the prospect of hot people working in fields where they aren't expected to work because they could be models or actors or whatever. It's a pretty good watch to those that are interested in the point of view of a hot person, in terms of this debate about whether or not the dev is actually a hot woman or not. In terms of what she posts, that's honestly her business and I won't judge her for that at all. If she makes a good game, then to me that's really the only thing that matters in this discussion anyways, since we're all on this site to play good porn games. Her looking hot is just a plus to some people, which I do get to some extend, I just don't see why it should take such a mainstage when we're here for the game itself, not for the alleged appearance of the dev.

On a completely different side-note, the last scene with Sophie at the end of the game was both so incredibly sad, but also so unbelievably adorable and beautiful. I can already imagine how much loving your best friend can suck, let alone when that friend is of the same gender as you. Not only do you risk losing the friendship, or at the very least potentially making it incredibly awkward for a while (Or permanently in some cases I would imagine), you also risk outing yourself to someone who you might not always be sure about in terms of their view on homosexuality. That added last part has to make it so fucking terrifying, especially since the person might not only reject your feelings, but a part of you that is inherently such a deep part of who you are as a human being and person.

Unfortunately, you, as a female player, are in the minority on this forum. So, when there is a male protagonist, if renaming is not possible a great furor arises and mods are written to correct this grievous error. But in a game with a female protagonist, renaming is rarely possible and if not available is equally rarely objected to. Men [mostly] write these games and cater [mostly] to other men. That's probably unfair, but it's the facts of life on F95.

For myself, I have no problem whatsoever with being unable to rename Alice to Walter. o_O

True. Also quite a lot of fem protag games have the heroine's name in the game's title... But even if not, few of them allow you to rename her indeed

Oh yeah I'm well aware, it's a 'problem' I regularly encounter. I generally don't really mind it too much in all honesty, it's just a nice addition when you have the possibility of naming them y'know? It adds a little extra spice in my opinion. It mostly seems to be HTML games where you can do so, which doesn't surprise me due to how easy it is to make it possible compared to other engines- Or so I've heard anyways. And yeah female developers are a minority unfortunately, which as you said leads to men making games for other men. Personally I enjoy games with female protagonists the most for obvious reasons, so it's always a bit sad that there's less options for that, but it's something you just gotta get used to. It's starting to get better with the ratio of men and women, but it'll likely never truly be an equal space until society as a whole embraces sexuality and all its aspects more than it currently does. The double standard between men and women certainly don't help either, but I'm getting off track.

But yes, I tend to just casually ask in cases like this, and then respect whatever answer I get from the dev. Sometimes the dev just didn't think about it originally and agrees to it, and sometimes they deny the request for various reasons. It certainly isn't worth causing a fuzz about though, so once I've gotten an answer I tend to just leave it at that rather than being obnoxious about the whole thing.

Here's the script I made that allows you to rename anyone you like in any RenPy game
Just extract it in your game folder and then open lc_customname.rpy and change the 'Phillipa' to whatever you want Alice's new name to be
To use with other games, simply change 'Alice' to that game's protag name
Duplicate that whole line if you want to rename npcs as well, for Our Red String for example, I always rename like the whole cast in my playthroughs :p
