I didn't really follow this game until now so maybe I'm biased, but just from a quick glance I actually think the old art looks really fucking bad. And the cat looks cross-eyed. Untitled.png

I thought the old Alice in the art was ultra hot, the new one not as much. Still a babe though so I will continue to check it out.

Related to another post, I don't think that people realize that all the negativity towards devs has an effect. I've seen devs say they don't enjoy the constant wave of negative comments. The dev who made My Sister, My Roommate said he isn't sure if he wants to make another game because of the garbage people spew.

True, it's like they want the game to be cancelled.

C2R_Beta release!
Hi guys!
The Beta is out and you can find it here:
First of all, we are happy to report that C2R_Alpha was released without any game-breaking bugs that prevented players from playing scenes. This has improved our launch quality. This is something we have worked hard on, so it is nice to see the result.
Second of all, but no less important, between C1R and C2R we have a total of 75 illustrations (plus variations). Compared to the 50 that all of the old 5 chapters combined had. The fact that in two chapters we've greatly surpassed the old art lets us see that we've accomplished our goal of increasing the amount of illustrations per scene. Moreover, we have two new characters and several new spaces.
It doesn't sound bad at all, seen from that perspective. We know that changes are hard for everyone, even more so if we have to go back to the start of the story. We are working hard on making sure that you get enough new content, new paths for Alice, accelerating some of them and making our erotic scenes more vivid so that this reboot sets a pace for a great improvement in the long term. Just as an example, and we don't want to spoil too much here, but having introduced the tennis team we are given carte blanche to advance a path with a character we know you are eager to experience (shhh, secret!).
I have to confess that I'm a little discouraged by the amount of discouraging messages from people who don't see all the work we're puttin into this reedition. All we can do is continue working as best we can, hoping that slowly and with each new chapter our work shines through and more of you will be able to appreciate it (fingers crossed!).

And now, to talk about the Beta itself:
- We have added new sprites for Sophie, Alice and Tom.
- We have polished part of the posing. Although there is still work left for C2R_final.
- We've added the logo for Sophie's 'Meanwhile' scene.
- The gallery is unlocked!
- We've done another round of proofreading. Looking for bugs, errors and typos.
- We've added some sound effects.
- We've changed/added some lines in the text to better match our art.
- We've retouched almost all of the illustrations, polishing some of them and giving some other a better environment. I post some of them so you can get an idea of what we mean.

- Regrettably, the scene we were planning on releasing on the Beta will be postponed for C2R_final, since we're not entirely happy with it.
-We are having some troubles releasing the Android version. We will update it as soon as we solve them

As always, I will be available on Discord to answer any of your questions and here you have the form to give us your feedback about C2R:

See u soon!

This game is ok so far. The art style is great and the story is fine but I really feel bad for the patrons who supported this game and got screwed basically. The nerve the dev got...collecting all this money and starting the game from scratch again, boy I would be mad as hell. And on top of that it took him more than a year to complete 2 chapters LOL.
Some pro scamming right here.

If you'd take the time to read the thread a bit, you'd learn why, instead of spouting off nonsense. The original artist they had left the team, and wouldn't let them use the art anymore. So they had to start all over with a new artist and redo all the art. In doing so, this also gave them a chance to redo some of the story and add new storylines to it as well.

This isn't like other games where they are like "We are reworking the game after years of work". Their hand was forced to have to start over. Originally, after the artist left, they were pretty down and were going to abandon the project all together. But after much support from their fans, they got a new artist and decided to push through, even though they were forced to start over.

The amount of research can easily be guessed: didn't even get dev's gender right.

Okay from the comments I was wondering if Sophie really looks that young. And people were exaggerating. Yes, she looks a little younger than Alice, but not like she's 15, lol

Finally got my Joiplayer to work. Anyine trying on the android has to get the old renpy plugin, the 1.00.40 seems to work.

I think the new art is good, and because the story is good, and the characters are good, it all works. I really like the new characters so far.

If I was to suggest any tweaks, I would say:

  1. Make everything slightly brighter. The new art is quite dark, and a few less shadows would possibly help the overall aesthetic.
  2. Bonny was possibly my favourite character, looks wise, of the original. New Bonny doesn't quite have the same spark. Maybe it's the weird trousers? I get it, she's meant to be a little bigger, but she is also supposed to be a bit of a tart with a heart and instagrammy type, so I worry that she won't be quite as hot as she was.
  3. Alice seems to have two phones. One in her hand, one in her pocket.
  4. New Alice is still hot, more realistic now, but in the yoga scene her face was hotter. I think everything needs to move up, just the smallest amount - the tip of her nose, her tits, her ass. Just the smallest amount to maybe make her a little less realistic, but more a compromise there for the sake of the fellas playing it.

While true, their point about remaking 2 chapters taking a whole year still stands. Especially when the original chapters were released on a 3 month/chapter schedule.

They didn't just had to start over. More was added to the story and the ammount of artwork for the new version is a lot more than the previous version. Curiously people complaining about the game never mention that.

These might be somewhat different things, though -- that is comparing time it took to find a suitable replacement artist and then produce replacement content, vs just time to produce original content. We don't know how much time was spent on finding the original artist before the initial release, it could've been easily months and months, too.

Yep, and she already had a story in mind, she just changed it a bit. It's not like she started working on a brand-new game.
Maybe her new artist is even less of a pro than the previous one.

Im not contract scientist but I'm pretty sure no sane person would run a project with the assumption that the artist can just take off and leave with his art.

It'd be hardly the first time ever couple of friends/acquaintances decide to start some amateur venture together and it doesn't even occur to them to make a formal contract, because they don't expect any sort of falling out down the road.

It's not a AAA Game company. It's some people getting together to make amateur porn games. I'm pretty sure there were no business meetings and contract signings with negotiations while they all sipped some bourbon and smoked cigars.
