You need to have a conversation with the Prof in the second chapter, which you can only have by choosing certain options in your exchange with him during chapter 1. You might want to check the script for specifics
Definitely frowned upon to trace someone else's art, yeah. If you alter it significantly its more of a grey area, but either way someone tracing is an indication that the art will be very inconsistent at best. But the funny thing is that lower image is obviously copied straight from a photo as well (maybe not traced but definitely referenced), so the top one could have just traced that same photo I guess, but if those 2 line up perfectly either they were both tracing or just the newer one was.
Very much so. I witnessed the drama of one game dev cutting ties with the artist because they traced and it wasn't even is obvious as that - just some hand positions and stuff. I didn't think it was a big deal but people were pretty pissed.
It would appear so. Drawing from real life source is fine, no different than drawing an art model posing for you, while tracing from other people's art is considered stealing. At least that's my understanding of it.
I would guess that both are tracing art. The low quality feets and legs on the second image makes me think the original source was cropped at the lower end of the model's body.
You know that the Dev said the new chapter 5 of remakes will be released around this time, june or july when they choose to remake this game, right? And here we are with chapter 3, so yeah, nothing too good if they said that chapter 4 will be released on august this year, and thats also only happend if theres no delay again like all the previous updatesThey scheduled chapter 6 for august 2023
Sort of a code of honor yeah, but even aside from any arbitrary rules, traced art will pretty much just always look worse than legit drawings. If you're tracing you're much more limited on what you can make because you have to find the perfect reference to trace and you probably don't know how to alter it. And on top of that, as an artist you aren't really improving by tracing because it takes very little thought. So really, its less of an honor thing and more just "you're cheating yourself as well as others." Hopefully that makes sense.
I was going through the original one and I thought several times the author was trying too hard to force comedic moments. It's especially apparent with the nerd, Alice and the BFF. I hate them in scenes together. It's like they become caricatures of the tropes they're meant to be.Anyone else finds the writing for this game to be incredibly cringy? I always thought that the writing wasn't this game's strongest point but lately it seems to have gotten worse? Like, I legitimately have to skip some the dialog because I'm getting second-hand embarrassment from it. The way Alice can't stop thirsting after everyone she meets in the game like a middleschool boy, who just got his first boner and these jokes, man.
