It can be money issues too if she pay the artist based on how many arts they created, let just said $300 for 1 art, and there are 20 arts for every update, so it will be $6000, if she get $3000 from the patreon every month, and after all the cut she get $2100, let just say she got $500 from that for her monthly expenses, the rest will be $1600 that will goes to the artist, by doing this, she needs 4 months to fully pay the artist for one update, even if she finished the update in two months, she needs to hold it to accumulates enough money to pay her artist first before releasing the update, nad this period will becomes longer and longer if the money she get from patreon decreased or she just wants too many arts in one update, this is why outsourcing the arts will be tricky when it comes to this kind of game
and this is also why i think its stupid when she tried to fully remake the games, and adding additional arts in every update, it will only put more burden on her and patreon works on how fast the updates you can bring to your patreon, the moment you drags the development cycle, your patreon will leave one by one, and she still wasnt on that kind of level yet, what she needed to do just replace the old arts with new arts, she dont need to changes the codes and story, she can just replaces it instantly and continued the development, thats simple
But what i mean is, if nothing is working or somehow in the future her incomes will becomes lesser and lesser to the point she cant outsource the arts anymore, she has the capabilities to do it herself. So she can keep the development alive, just like she did on GGGB
