Is there new content? I reloaded my last save, ended up running into the end/patreon screen. Just them heading off to respective beds after watching the not-Peaky Blinders.

Or is this one of those have to start over at the beginning type updates?

Last version here was C3 beta or alpha, so no new content if you played that. This is the final C3 version

Damn, why did the artstyle change? I thought the realistic artwork looked great before.
Because the original artist, Javier, bailed on the project leaving Red in the lurch stating that he felt "uncomfortable" creating sexually explicit scenes... for a porn-focused game! I'm sure there were other issues behind the scenes such as prohibitive royalties to keep his art in the game while not working on the project. (Though Red states that they ultimately parted ways amicably.) And last I checked, it's hilarious that Javier continues to claim he is a co-creator for this active project on his professional resume which, intentional or not, misleads others into thinking he still has an active role in its artistic development.

So hat's off to Red for not abandoning the project and persevering despite that and making the story even better than it was before. As I recall, Red had to do a lot of work to keep Lust Campus afloat during the interim time. Also, a round of applause to the current artist whose art style is really good! It couldn't have been easy for Red to find and negotiate with them so that they would come onboard to her project. Frankly, I don't believe many would be complaining on the art front if people got into this game and only saw the current art pieces. The characters and backgrounds are detailed and wonderful to look at and are really good especially compared to other hentai games! People keep bemoaning the change but I think it's a really good change in direction since the new artist doesn't appear to have any qualms about creating sexually explicit scenes in the future. This allows Red to do more and she doesn't have to be restricted like she was before the change in artists. (Red has stated that Javier was holding her back on some scenes in the past.)

So take the change of artists as a positive note. (y) And enjoy the game!

It might seem like you saw this premise, about a new girl in a new city going to college, like a hundreed times already, but there are surprisingly few actually high quality games of this type. This one is very high quality tho. Art is top notch, writing is good, characters are likeable and diverse in a sense that there's a lot of different character archetypes you'd expect from a college setting: Hot teacher, bad boy, shy nerd, THE bitch etc.

It's a shame the previous artist left and they had to redo a lot of stuff, that said current artist is very good as well and the writing has REALLY improved when compared to the original release. Hope it will release this century, looking forward to it(y)

I am a bit sad to see in the new update that you don't have any influence on Alice's internal monolog. There are several of the potential LI's I have no interest in at all, and still I have to read through multiple screens of Alice thinking how sexy she finds the character. IMO, thoughts like these in the game for any character should be gated behind a variable.

I doubt she misled him, it's more likely that the more explicit content was more popular (because of course it is), and it just escalated to scenes that he wasn't comfortable with - especially if he's a professional artist, which he likely is, he wouldn't have wanted his professional name to be associated with porn.
I'm assuming that the developer played with open cards right from the start. Anything else would have been stupid. So the artist knew from the beginning what he was getting himself into. And jumping off a project afterwards because he felt "uncomfortable" is not professional, it's childish. A contract would have existed in the freen economy. and breaking it can be expensive. And a professional artist certainly cannot afford a reputation for being unreliable. He certainly didn't do himself any favors with it.

What might have happened was that the artist was more comfortable drawing scenes with a more artistic nude feel like with live models or games with nudity but no actual sexual content while the dev leaned more into explicit sexual acts and the artist got a bit uncomfortable with how hardcore the action was/going to be in the future.

this is cap, or cope? :HideThePain:
The art itself is pretty good and the artist is talented I don't think that can be denied. Whether it fits into this game or if it lives up to the great art that it's replacing is a different argument.

The new art is miles behind the old art for anyone that has the benefit of working eyes. The old one was the best in the genre and not a single game with similar artstyle comes even close. Its unfortunate how things turned out, but we don't have to pretend that everything is peaches, it is what it is.

No need to pretend. Old sprites straddled the uncanney valley for me, the old artist quitting has reinvigorated my interest in this game.

I agree that the previous art was vastly superior and it was what initially caught my interest because it was one of if not the best art I've ever seen for a VN.
I think the problem is that some people take it further then simply saying they preferred the original art and decide shit on the current artist's art even though the current artist is genuinely talented.

Wish the dev and the original artist actually.... Well... Communicated fully before they agreed to work on this project. There was a break down in communication somewhere. Either the dev didn't properly state what type of game/story this is at the beginning... Or the artist is a jerk who agreed to work on this project and then decided to quit knowing full well this is an adult visual novel.

Really can't give you enough props for that, it's fortunate this game still continues to be developed, as annoying as the delay is.

Edit: The thing I find far more off-putting than the rework or the change in artstyle is the disconnect between the actions of the protagonist and the decisions available to the player. If I do not wish to interact with an NPC why the fuck does the protagonist share a bowl with them? Why do they fawn over a professor that I decided to dislike? If you give those choices freaking adhere to them.

I wonder if they were on the same page and then patreons made it known that they wanted the art to be explicit. This would explain why the artist became uncomfortable working on an adult game.
