Seems like they are forcing you to slob on some knob. "Oh, you no like him? well, enjoy being forced onto him!" this game shows the illusion of choices.
I played this before the remake or whatever and I was able to avoid every guy (I went the Lesbian route) I stopped once they forced me to play as the nerd/geek that is in your class. So, hearing you can't avoid the professor is... really weird.
Same, I find the current lack of actual choices more concerning than the change of artstyle, which was a necessity, no matter how I feel about the old vs. the new style. The impression that this, too, becomes one of those games that, at best, gives me the feeling of constantly fighting the game to not have the protagonist go down on some guy, seems like a bigger issue. I don't know what the problem is with actually changing the protagonist's behavior according to the choices presented. It's not as if it would take anything away from people who are into the male characters and who wouldn't pick those choices anyway therefore. But what this does is kinda tarnish any lesbian route from the get go because it feels as if I have to force the game to let me pick those, which kinda raises the question why even bother at that point.
The worst part, in my eyes, is that the game used to do far better at this, as you said, and there is really no reason why suddenly choices don't matter anymore, just because the art had to be redone.
Edit: It's not as if the protagonist is forced to have sex with the professor (yet), it's that she thirsts about him (basically) even if that goes against the player's choice there. Also I do still feel as if the player will have the option to avoid guys, but it becomes kinda pointless if the MC is leering at male npcs even if the "don't like" option was chosen.
