When you say RPGM can be fun, what type of game-play are you talking about? Like, ones that use the battle system?

For an example yes. Take the last sovereign for example. Without pictures and just text it's a great game. However even without combat rpgmaker can be use to make good games. Sadly most of the time people who are able to don't finish makeing their game. The only one that I can think of that was finished in recent history is my girlfriend's amnisia. While I didn't like having to walk everywhere overall it was a pretty great game.
