It's one of the "you need to figure out when to be where to advance a character, and sometimes, the RNG also needs to be on your side" types, and it doesn't help that the game does not tell you which attributes to corrupt to advance - so it's a lot of trial and, while not strictly error, lack of advancement.

In short: You'll see a lot of repeat content. It's not a "you can choose what to do, and there's always something interesting to do" sandbox (like LabRats2, for example), and more of a "you gotta sift through a lot of sand to find the one door that lets you proceed" sandbox.
