I managed to get the beginning of the non-lust gran. First he grabs you from the legs, then he looks at you and one of the heads says 'SMASH!' (Basically announcing you'll get slammed against the floor if you don't act quickly). I freed myself after that and never managed to get another grab attack

I managed to get it but it took like 400 wait and guards. The odds of it happening are crazy low it seems, cos I went through 5 fights with him and it only happened once.

You get some conversation with him and Scar, but you need to finish Murcard quest before that. After that a new dungeon will open and you can tag along with Tank just as you did with Tao if you went to the Junkyard (you can get some sex scenes with Tank as well).
