my cousin lives next to the dev he said new update coming next year in 30 of feb
i forgot about this, and i'm happy i stumbled apponed this again. but its also sad to see that it's been 8 moths and since the last update. i've seen this many times on my journey to visit vn/games that i've played in the past. its start's with a few months for the nxt update, then the next one takes 1year and a couple months, then it goes 2 ways it gets the big yellow abandoned on it, or the developer goes completely awol, and even though its abandoned it doesn't get the yellow sign of death, and people are left with false hope. then there's that microscopic chance where it gets un-abandoned, only to get re-abandoned in a few months.

It would be pretty pointless as many will have completely lost faith in him. Dropping off the face of the earth without so much as a heads up. In reality it should be a great way to lose all of your supporters, who should go on to support other more active developers. But you know what they say "a fool and his money are soon parted."

Doesn’t seem to be the case with Xenorav lol, dude disappears and reappears like nothing happened, as if it all just rolls right off him. But I agree, overall it’s more of an exception.

He just doesn't communicate, but has improved since the recent release. He's definitely the exception, shadow drops out of nowhere like fuckin Batman lol nobody does that.

Bro, you really overestimate people... as a example: Icstor, the guy that made Milfy City? His last patreon post was over a year ago, but his last Update on any game was actually over TWO years ago... go on his Patreon and be amazed by the over TWO THOUSAND paid members he still has...

Maybe you are unable to change and develop, but that doesn't mean everyone is... The Dev did regularly update before, so obviously people gave him some benefit of the doubt. The longer the span without any update or news goes, the less that is the case and then at some point, it turns into "Okay, it probably wont happen anymore". That's a normal line of thinking... if you think everyone has to expect a game to be abandoned once a single update gets missed, then you are an idiot who doesn't understand how time works...

Had Scallywag had a record of failures, like Braindrop (WVM) or Xenorav (Heart Problems), then I would accept that fans have zero self awareness, as you call it, since that wouldn't be the fist time he lied and made unkept promises. However, this dev was constant with his updates until this last one, so his fans, myself included, gave him the benefit of the doubt. Now, after this whole silence, I wouldn't subscribe to his Patreon again even if he brought out the update.
he he was very consistent with his huge updates really , if he didn't disappear we would have at least 2 updates and near the third , i really still hope that he comes back someday
