As this update will be the last one made in Studio Neo 2 using HS2 models, I made it the biggest one yet.
This chapter will introduce many new characters, including ones that were mentioned before but didn’t have a chance to enter the stage and those that will play significant roles in the future of Lycoris Radiata.
There will be two QTE events, one for Ren and another for Inei. Some side stories and a deep dive into the Sculptor case, which will be the main focus of this arc.
A new approach for renders will be introduced: a blueprint for a more traditional VN style of story portrayal using sprite-type renders in scenes with multiple characters.
CG unlocks will be added a little later, as I intend to make them somewhat special, considering these will be the last ones using HS2 models.

Note: I will make a public post addressing changes, concerns, and many other subjects regarding future releases and the Blender transition after the public release of Ch7. I heard the feedback on Blender models and did my best to improve them, yet again remaking the base model. I will be sharing updates and my progress after the release as well

I knew he was going to switch, but I didn't realize it would be this soon.
Ah well, here's hoping he really does spread his wings on Blender (haven't seen the new model for the MC...hope the transition isn't that jarring because I really like his HS2 model lol).

finished the new update, and though it was interesting, i'm a bit disappointed to see that there weren't any H-scenes, let alone anything even approaching progress with the romance side of the game. this is turning into quite the slow burn. the story is carrying it for now, but i'm hoping we'll see something soon

i don't think this game is supposed to have any H-scenes(it was never stated that this is a porn game anyways

I think it is kinda of a missed opportunity to be making an adult VN without sexual scenes tbh. If you're tackling adult stories with adult elements like murders, serial killers and gore...then why not the "good" side of adult life? In a good well told story, sex can enhance the relationship and build stronger ties etc etc. But it feels like the dev thinks gore is fine but dicks n pussy is too much lol.
Anyway, I was really enjoying this game even without said sex scenes. But chapter 6 was so incridebly boring and so heavily anime that I couldnt even finish it, it completely turned me off somehow.
I also noticed that everyone kind of shares from the same small pool of faces lol.
But anyway, I wish the dev luck with this project going forward! Despite my grievances I think this game is really creative and well done.

thanks for pointing that out, i was not aware of the change in direction.
I assume the sprite system will be a great timesaver in the long run. Still, while playing it occurred to me multiple times how great the current models look.
As well as checking the gallery afterwards. The Reika/Kou overlap is an absolute banger.
Gonna wait and see, i guess.
Also, i assume the forum here will still be a place to see updates and discussions about the Novel, right? Or will that change with the new no-nudity direction?

i get that but there was a full sex scene towards the beginning and it does have the romance and vaginal sex tags so there definitely is an expectation for at least something sprinkled in fairly consistently. i'm not mad at it, but given the dynamics of the story and the character models, it would be a shame to refrain from it for such long periods of time. i'd wager most of their supporters on patreon (which includes me now) would likely agree with that sentiment.i don't think this game is supposed to have any H-scenes(it was never stated that this is a porn game anyways

Can someone explain the multi-protag for me? I have been scanning the thread and reviews but haven't found a clear explanation beyond it seems to be two entities in the same body.
It sounds like a skip to me, but maybe there is more context I am missing that will change my mind.

basically yes, MC has two personalities in one body. the nicer more socially apt one is the original one, and the more arrogant one is the new one. it gets a little more complicated but that's the gist of it. different characters react differently to the different personalities (go figure) but you're still pretty much two parts of the same whole. the nice one can't be in control for extended periods of time, and at this point in the story, they've reached a fairly satisfying dynamic where they're not completely at odds with each other. only a few characters know of the split personality thing, and Mirai (best girl) accepts you both but has a greater fondness for the nice one since that's the one she remembers as a child.
i'd recommend you check it out, but just be aware that this game is far from a fuck fest at this point (and it might never be)
please for the love of story and porn make the damned QT events (minigames) OPTIONAL in the menu settings please. a very large portion of people just hate those things and they tend to piss me off royally half the time and ruin the game for me.
1. my arthritis in my hands will thank you (old military injuries from overseas)
2. my blood pressure will thank you because they piss me off having to do them because if they aren't perfect my obsessive nature will make me keep trying to do the impossible until my heart explodes or i throw my pc through the window.
3. it's just nice to give people the OPTION to be included or not in you own minigames instead of being forced to have to put up with them.
i live the story concept and the animations and everything else about this game just those mini- Qt events utterly ruin it for me. so please please take this into consideration. i know i'm not the only one who gets annoyed/pissed off with these things.

i wasn't able to get the QTE to work properly in this update. the time window to do them seemed broken. didn't seem to have an effect though. the characters said i played and danced perfectly regardless. it was weird
