because people never ever ever lie.
I remember My New Life's dev had told that he had to postpone an update release because his pet had drowned into the river, therefore he had fallen into depression and stopped working on the game.

He told this story TWICE at least.

I guess that dude should have paid more attention to his pets.

Well... I guess his apartment had a window facing the river. Can you imagine? his cat/dog opening the window... calmly watching the river... then... a dive. Into the river. What a tragedy. And it happened twice.
Firstly, let me clarify that I'm not referring to any specific dev. If you have clear evidence a dev is lying, that's different of course. But I see a lot of folks who take the default position that a dev is lying whenever someone says something has happened. You can obviously choose to feel however you want, but personally I find it ridiculous for the automatic assumption to be that a developer is lying.

I'm also not saying to go out and support all devs immediately. Each person needs to decide what to do with their own money. But to come on a forum and spit massive vitriol because some dev in the past rubbed you the wrong way is pretty unfair to other developers. That is my entire point. I've worked with several developers over the years. Some are clearly far more trustworthy than others. I tend only to keep working with those who IMO have shown they can be trusted. I'm also more forgiving than most, so I expect others to react to developers much more harshly than I myself usually do. Still, I think some degree of grace should be allotted to many developers to whom actual shit might have happened.

Dev exposition dump:
In this post, I'll talk about:

2. Art direction, and its challenges;
3. Solving and optimizing production;
4. Other changes, and progress update on the Steam build;
5. Final update on my diagnosis and treatment;

I don't know why I thought the dev was russian, but I see the folder and OS are in portuguese
Can you identify a Russian developer by these signs:
  1. They don't know what illness is.
  2. They don't know what ADHD is.
  3. There's not a single 'suka blyat' in their devlogs. :BootyTime:

    P.S. I'm just glad that the developer is alive and reasonably healthy.

ADHD was my bet from the beginning, glad he finally got diagnosed and got his meds. Great to hear they work for him well, hopefully it will last forever but with those ADHD meds you never know... Maybe we will get game's update after all.

lol, he mentions that he ran out of them some time ago already :KEK:
Well, not sure what's funny about that tho. Some of them are not cheap, depends on country and his income, laughing about someone not being able to afford his meds is pretty pathetic if you ask me. Nevertheless diagnosis is a good thing and at least he knows how to handle things now.

Yeah, babes! Coast on that hype train, running on fumes of what this game could, should and would be: fantastic.
Thread is alive *cause this game is going to STEAM ... in the coming weks or months.
Threads alive
Last pledge of alliegience for this game dev gave to hype up the hopes a lil bit:
” This will be my last post before the Steam release, which I hope will be coming sooner than we all expect. I could reach a mystical flow state and knock down weeks of work in a matter of days. You never know... we can never have 100% control over anything, I guess.”
