Yeah, this was one of the better games. Would have loved to see it completed but we lose another one.

I really liked this one, but I think it was just too ambitious for a first game. It would have been better to start with something simpler and saved this as a second game after the dev has figured out the workflow and built up a following. I think that is a mistake that a lot of new devs make.

Nonsense... It was not "too ambitious", it didn't have multiple complicated paths or any pioneering game mechanics - game had great story/writing and good/very good renders. Just because it wasn't as dumb as 99,9% games in here does not mean it was "too ambitious".
Dev has his life problems he needs to deal with sooner or later but changing project complexity or it's story wouldn't change a thing in this case. Being perfectionist (among other things) is not something easy to handle or to live with, in most scenarios it is matter of working with 150% efficiency causing yourself to burn out or not working at all causing your self-esteem to dive. That's depressing and sad and does not affect just one thing (developing game in this case) but every aspect of your life.
Call me naive but I still believe in this project... Knowing what problems dev is dealing with I see this game as symbol of his healing in a way. He struggles a lot, that's why game is abandoned for so long with multiple resurrections attempts. Nevertheless life sometimes is really hard and my empathy really hopes he will manage to deal with it, one day you will see update of this game and you will know that not only "there is an update" but also that dev went through a lot of shit in his life yet found strength to deal with it. At some point in your life when you are low, support can change everything, how could I not believe this game will get update one day?

Is this actually dead, or is it the dev's M.O. to disappear for ages at a time, before dropping an update out of nowhere, and disappearing again?
afaik dev had some irl problems and quit the game indefinitely. At first he said he'll try to come back but it's been some time. Though one can hope.

yeah it's pretty much up in the air, either we get something or we won't, I like the game but not really confident anything else will come of it other than what we already got. It's a shame really, didn't have the best visuals, but I liked the story and characters.
I honestly don't have much hope but there is always a possibility. iirc, last stable update was over 2 years ago. This wip update, which did not add much, was almost a year ago. So, one can assume this game is abandoned forever but afaik dev never said such a thing.
