Well thats disappointing, maybe we need a new label, in this case and in a few other lately, it doesnt feel like "completed" is a fitting description. Abandoned is reaaaly fitting either so maybe something like "rushed ending" or whatever lol
There definitely seems to be enough games on the site that are "Competed" but which are really "The dev crapped out a non-ending and tacked it onto the end of an unfinished story just to avoid an Abandoned tag" that it would potentially justify some sort of qualifier tag. The main problem is that it would require a bit more discretion from mods to differentiate between an "ending" that is generally a half-assed cop-out, and an ending that IS realistically finished, but which just frustrates people who wanted more out of it.

Though it's generally pretty easy to tell. Whenever you see a game get the "Completed" tag and then the thread floods with people calling it out for being BS, it's usually a pretty good indication that a dev just ejected.

Indeed a great game. I enjoyed it thoroughly the slow burn, and the environment and the story telling, and how you portrayed the MC as a borderline dominating personality - but never overdoing it - There were a lot of moments I really enjoyed and towards the end, felt like a little rushed and felt like a lot is still pending ( could have been extended ). But overall, I liked your story telling and overall a great game.

Thanks a lot GamesMtP . Very good luck on your new game.

Not surprised at all, this game had many characteristics of a first time amateur dev - too many characters and main story taking a backseat almost immediately being the most obvious ones. Good luck having to tie up all this mess when you're a one guy, it's way easier to cut your losses and move on.

You're not entirely wrong, but I've also been upfront for a long time now that it's ending this year. I work a full time job to support myself and work on MtP evenings/weekends and the money I've made roughly covers the assets/electricity bill for working on the game. To my mind, that's a hobby but I appreciate the hell out of everyone who supported the game. Cheers.
Thanks for your game and all your time and effort.

- You should check if you can publish your game on steam to get some extra revenue ...
- If you have more ideas how the story may continue, write them down and collect them before they get out of sight ... working a (boring) real life job can be a great environment to dream of / inspire another game or the continuation of this game. Maybe in a few years you want to return to this hobby ... life is about variety and change ...
- Since it is your game, you can always come back and rewrite the story, change endings, etc ... just make the rework obvious in versioning so that the mods keep a copy of the old game. A lot of devs restart their own projects ...

This completed tag is so wrong, the game was abandoned, not completed, the dev himself made that clear in the changelog.

I can already imagine the mess this forum will become if this becomes a trend.
If a developer decides to stop working on the project, can they simply ask for the completed tag to be added to avoid receiving the well-deserved abandoned tag?

What I think is that the cop/revenge story ended where I had planned it to, but there is a lot more on the sexual side that could be done. Am I truly satisfied? Not really. I could have put another 2000 hours into it to fill it out with more sexual progress with the girls, more combinations, more of everything.

The people in here who say "dev got bored and gave it a quick ending" are not wrong. I've been working on MtP for four years as a hobby project, taking up much of my free time, and I feel a need to work on something else.

It's the easiest thing in the world to tell someone else they should spend 2-5 hours a day on something, then move on with your life. I respect the opinion of all the folks who think I should have kept going, but it's my time to invest, and I feel a need for something else. So I gave it the ending I had always planned, with the meeting of the real father and the reveal of two sisters (there's a joke in there tying back to the intro of the game). What I didn't do, and that many commenters here clearly think I should have, was put another year or two of work in between falling asleep with Beth and Chris, and going to the cemetery. I just lacked the motivation to invest that time.
Not trying to start shit but an honest question. If you fully acknowledge you just got bored with the story/game/characters what have you, what can you say to someone who has supported you or is interested in supporting you that this wont just happen again for the next game? If someone finds your next start of a game good, why should they think the game will continue to be made and be worth supporting if you might just suddenly get bored and move on again?

So the game takes forever to get to the 'Maid' Part (given the title is MAID TO PLEASE you expect maids to have a bigger role) and now the game is ending and not being updated anymore?
This seems to be barely a prologue in to what the game was meant to be, not the end...

There was nothing sudden about this. If you think so, it's because you haven't been following what I write in my regular weekly posts. I'm not saying you should have, but I'm saying that I've been open about MtP coming to a close this year for a long time. I've said this just released update is the last one for now (and maybe forever), since before I even started working on it.

It's been four years. No one who starts a journey that long can promise you where they will be a year, two years, three years later.

As for future support, I guess people will have to make up their own minds. I'm upfront with what I'm doing and planning. If plans change, I'm upfront with that too.
