Right now I am indeed leaning towards the hotel manager, but with a younger MC (seeing that the poll I put up on my Discord was hugely in favor of the mother relationship). And yeah, I have to agree
TheDevian, mentioning the family in only the hotel option might not have been the best choice, on the other hand that concept was the best fit for it (at least for what I have in mind with it), so if that was a deciding factor, I can't really say that I mind the outcome.
Honestly, to me
personally, the story is less "interesting" than the actual gameplay.
This, of course, doesn't mean I think it's not important, but what I mean to say is that you can apply many different stories to many different concepts and I my opinion it's more about
how you write than
what you write.
Let's be honest, my writing isn't going to win any prices anytime soon and most of these games don't have the most original stories (and don't always need to), more importantly it's definitely not my expertise.
Nor is the artwork, for that matter, as I am a developer by trade and try to focus on my strong suit (and get the most joy out of that), while trying to get the other elements to acceptable levels (that doesn't mean I don't challenge myself to improve, just to be clear).
TLDR: In order to keep the "job" fun for me (which is very important to stay motivated) I need to do something I like.
And to me, what seperates the 3 concepts from one another, is more the general theme/gameplay than the actual story.
Also, there's a big chance that I will work on the other concepts in the future as well!
