Ok, go to your C drive, unhide all files/folders, go into C:\Users\account_name\AppData\LocalLow and delete the folder named "Faerin". Now try to play MotH.

What I meant was, did you use KeinBa's updater or did you download the file from OP?
I mean yes, it means that I really did the complete downloads and the upgrade, my dear friend.
Upgrade? You did extract it to its own folder, and not try to overwrite the old version, right?

Very nice game once you get the hang of it.

This game is one of the least annoying repetitive games I have ever played.
I highly recommend it and put it on my top 5 games to play.

It's starting to sound like a hardware/OS issue than a problem with MotH. I use the same OS as you, so I can safely say it's not an issue with your game. It's likely you may have corrupt sectors on the hard drive, so when you try to access a file that is located on a bad sector, it will crash. I would recommend running ScanDisk with the following options selected: (see screenshot). You will need to restart your machine to allow the scan to take place.
Another option would be to run the game from another machine (if you can) to see if the same problem occurs.
