Hi all. First off, I owe each of you a huge apology! I wanted to start out by saying thank you for the support we had from our past and current patrons! I want to take a lot of time here to explain what has transpired here at Tranquil Games, so this will be very long.
I came up with the idea for Married After 40 over a year ago. I had a good job working Monday thru Friday 6am to 3pm, making good money. I had a fiancée that I lived with and life was overall very good. I formed this team and we started planning the demo, months before we actually released it. Shortly after this, my world began to fall apart. I lost my job and the only job I could get was for $10 less an hour. I also broke up with my fiancée and ended up living in a very small apartment, falling way behind on my bills.
When we finally released the demo, I got a really good job working for the state. Well, I'm getting caught on up my bills, but I'm also working a lot of overtime. For those of you that have worked in a place where they mandate you at the last minute, welcome to my new world. Not only do I work 40 hours a week, but I also work at least 2-3 extra shifts per week. This is not a very good thing when you need to spend quite a bit of time writing stories.
When I first starting forming this team, I had 25 completed episodes for Married After 40. Granted, they weren't filled with each comment for each character, but they all had a completed outline of what I wanted to happen in each scene. There was a definite direction I wanted the story to head. Well; needless to say, after the demo was released we decided to change that direction. I really didn't want to change it, but we decided it would be for the best. My original episode 1 was going to be the upcoming Episode 4. What this means, is I've had to change the entire layout and direction of the current game. This gave me headaches! I'd have the episode's story completing written only to have to do a complete overhaul of the content. We decided to take things a bit too slow for my liking. This is one reason we didn't have very many sexual scenes. As this continued, I became very frustrated. I was using my very spare free time to re-write an already completed story a few more times.
Once we finished Episode 3, my original story wasn't my story anymore. I always wanted to produce our first game without many choices, keeping it simple. Sure, we would have a few that would give you different scenes, but now this story was taking entire new paths, which was even more frustrating. We gave in to what folks were commenting about instead of doing what we set out to do - produce a visual novel with really good cut scenes and a good story. Soon after Episode 3 was released, I had some tragedy hit and mix this with me losing my internet for almost a month, this project was all but dead in the water. My programmer quit after Episode 1 because of what I just covered. He too was frustrated with the direction of where this game was heading. My graphics guy also decided to focus his energy and time on his game, leaving this project without an artist. I postponed everyone's payments for a month in hopes of convincing my artist to continue with us, but to no luck.
So, as of now, this game is on hold in search of a new artist. My life is finally coming back together and now I'm positive I'll be able to resurrect Married After 40. If you decide to leave, I can't blame you. If you do stay and eventually come back, I'll do something to make it up to each and everyone of you! If you know of a talented artist that is looking for a project, please send him/her my way. You can also reach me on F95 as Bulfmaster! I'd prefer to find someone that isn't currently working on a game. However, the graphic standards have been set, and that is non-negotiable.

Oh, well...looks like another game with good potential "bites the dust".
Many devs underestimate the time they have to sacrifice to develop a game and overestimate the possible revenue.
Most devs get less than 3$ an hour. No wonder so many new devs quit.

Hi all! Well, my search for a new graphics artist paid off. He's hard at work redesigning things. The only bad thing is our characters will be changing! The names will remain the same though. Things will be a bit different starting out, but we know you'll enjoy them. Also, I'm working with him on a lot of issues that we have now. There will be different rewards and such, but I'll get into all of that soon.
Just for now, know that this game is back in production. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again for the support you have shown us and I haven't forgotten what I promised!

The Dev have posted the new Stephanie model, visible for the patreons (for the moment)… if the models are re-done (in better i hope!), the game will have to start from the beginning, maybe the story will be a little different too...

Unfortunately the artist working on that version left the project, however I have recently joined the creator for the remake of the game! When joining him, we originally wanted to do a new project with the two of us but once I got a little more insight on what was happening around this project we talked and made it a priority to see this to completion.Here the preview
He might not have a lot of time, but I do and have all the tools necessary to make sure this project gets finished the right way.
I'm remaking all the characters and creating all their morphs myself, as well as building the environments to fit the character's personalities to help make the game feel more alive. The renders are going to be more cinematic and meaningful to the tone of the story.
It's real unfortunate what's been happening with this game, but I'm going to do my best to bring the world to life!

The "old" game was about hotwifing theme (similar to TAC and Project Hot Wife), i wish myself that also this "revamped" version have the same theme…

MrJago I have read your Patreon post where it says that there will not be any cheating/NTR scenes... but there will be cuckold/swingers/hotwifing scenes? They are in love and these paths don't mean anything to compromise their love! These paths increase the couple love in my opinion...

The NTR/Hotwife content was the reason I started supporting this game. Now he is pulling the NTR content? I'm a little disappointed but will stay as a supporter for the time being. Hopefully the game will be a good one after the changes.

Hello! It was I who posted. =) Anyhow, I don't want to give much away, but yes, the plan is to have some of these in a certain form. The reason I posted that was because I didn't want for folks to hope for genres that just won't appear in the first story. As mentioned, Heather's Story will have a lot of what folks have been asking for. The plan is to finish with MA40:SA then to start on Heather's Story, which will have a lot more genres in it then MA40, then back to MA40: Part 2. Since, NTR is a context that causes many discussions and honestly, I really don't know what is and isn't NTR (I've read many descriptions of it and many games have their version of it.)
Here's some examples:
1.
Netorare meaning
Netorare is a genre of anime, manga, or video game focused on infidelity. Commonly a subgenre of pornographic hentai anime, netorare storylines typically focus on the internal distress caused by one member in a relationship cheating on the other.
2. Basically, the noun netori comes from the verb netoru, while the noun netorare comes from the verb netorareru, the passive form of netoru. So netori is active while netorare is passive. In other words, netori means "stealing someone else's partner" or "homewrecking," while netorare means "cheating with."
Now, in Heather's Story, as with MA40, there will be an important story. Mainly, to find out why Heather is how she is. Part of that story will include items from both of these examples. So, if you are a fan of adultery, cheating, cuckholding, etc., then you'll love Heather's Story.
I know we really didn't say what genres we were including and which ones we weren't including. Eventually, tons of genres will float around the MA40 trilogy (SA, HS and Part 2), and some will be in just one story and some in all. I'm not going to go into more detail as this is more than I wanted to say about it anyway. I just wanted to clarify.

Thank you for keeping us informed as to developments, and I was sorry to hear about your difficulties and hope that they can be resolved. IMHO your game has great potential, and I for one am happy to wait until you are in a 'good' place again.
