I think moderation is like US police departments where you fail the interview if your IQ is too high.
Unfortunately, your recent report has been rejected: Post in thread 'Unity - Max the Elf [v5.03] [T-Hoodie]' - We don't currently keep historic versions in OP. This is a planned future update to the site

What? Don't tell me that that's an actual response you got. Which noob decided to look at your report? Keeping multiple versions, especially ones prior to controversial changes, has been a thing for years.

Kind of a rant/tangent, but I recently got my hands on a Sega Master System with a good dozen games, and you know what the gameplay of Max the Elf reminds me of, in like a really weird way?

A fucking 18+ hodgepodge of the Alex Kidd games.
Nice find! I never played it but I'm guessing you mean the controls are floaty?

Working on more animations with Fae! More updates soon.
Nice!! I am already loving this scene so much! :love:

I think we would all kiss cute little Max here :coffee:

Basic game design, floaty controls, not honestly too much control on whether or not you get hit, and boss fights that have nothing to do with the core gameplay loop while involving Rock-Paper-Scissors and the like.
Ah I see. I have always been a Nintendo fanboy so I dodged that bullet.

Yet another quick Patreon post:

September update 10: MTE: Fae Scene 1 finished!

That this scene is... Magical :love:

Hello, dear Linux nerds, another indie developer has deprived us of a native Linux version of the game. Enough of this! It's time to take matters into our own hands and overthrow the gov..., I mean, port the game ourselves!

How to do it:
  • download the bash script I wrote ;
  • download the Mac version of the game. Make sure it's a Mac version;
  • extract it all into one folder. The file structure should be like this:
    Code:
    Max_the_Elf_Mac_to_Linux_Converter
       misc
       MTE v5.03 MAC.app
       mac_to_linux.sh
  • execute the mac_to_linux.sh script. Wait until it says Done - Press enter to exit, comply with its demands, keeping your hands in sight;
  • move Max_the_Elf_Linux folder with the ported game to any convenient location.

Wanna know a secret too? I also use Arch btw.

But why not simply run through wine? Would there be any benefit to converting?

The game will become Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. And in general I am for a healthy lifestyle, no alcohol!

But seriously, in many cases the native game works much better. In some cases, I managed to get huge performance gains (often with RPG Maker games). I usually leave only hopeless cases to Wine.

I could also complain about Wine pulling a lot of lib32- dependencies. But I use wine-staging-wow64 from AUR, which doesn't need them.

Sadly, it was the actual response. Word for word. Do you want me to keep trying?

LOSSLIE only unlocks level 5. Iirc, T said, the game would show you a password, when you beat stage 5, but whether it's wishful thinking or actually true I can't tell.
