I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred.

After loading the script.
UnicodeDecodeError: 'utf8' codec can't decode byte 0x9c in position 11: invalid start byte

Hi all, my compressed unofficial Android ports of Max's Life
Usual gestures, save name/delete etc..
Alternative persistent saves location



Max's Life Chapter 5 v0.54
Special Instructions:
Install apk file
Grant storage permissions on first run!
On first run you will get a prompt to copy the archive.rpa file to documents/Wills747/maxs.life.five/game folder.
Copy the rpa file to the directory indicated in game. (game will quit now)
Restart the game.
Keep in mind if your default install location is an actual SD card this may slow the launch.

hello can someone help me with chapter 3 im supposed to buy cigarettes 3 times but i could only buy it once

Hi guys, I recently started playing and realized chapter 2 has some massive lag when you get choices.
Haven't tried chapter 3 yet so no Idea how it is there.
Not sure if this has been adressed earlier so I thought I'll try to figure something out.
After checking the autosaves it seems like the game autosaves for every choice.
One method to "fix" this is to do the following:

1: Open up config.py with your preferred editor (notepad++ is nice)
Location: Maxslife-0.22-pc\renpy

2: Search for the value: autosave_on_choice

3: Change from True to False.
This makes it so that the game won't autosave when there's a choice.

4: If you still want some autosave just in case then search for the value: autosave_frequency

5: Change it to whatever amount of interactions you want before it autosaves. (in my case I went for 500)
Not a developer but from my understanding every 500 "enter" clicks should trigger an autosave. Haven't kept count, but the game did autosave from time to time.

This reduced the amount of lag a lot and there's no longer 5 seconds of delay for every choice. Made me a happy camper atleast.

In the v023-24 update. cigarettes can be purchased once. When I open my inventory after taking the cigarette, it gives an error. Can anyone know help
Also, where can we view the in-game statistics. I could not find any

In CH3 Sophia ntr how many days should I wait for Alvin to rest? Because I cant give the lingerie to Sophia.. :|

help please. ch4 (v035) does not start. I downloaded it 2-3 times. I extract the files from winrar. I press the game exe. nothing happens
