You probably arrive at work too late (you can arrive up to 9:00 to be able to work at the garage)

You can't work in the garage if you have worked out the same morning. I don't know if it is a bug or intended like that.
I quickly checked the code and it should work, working out doesn't prevent you from working at the garage.
BUT note that you can start your shift at the garage only from 8:00 to 9:00 since the shift is 10 hours and the garage closes at 19:00.
I'll verify this better later, please inform me in case you test what I said
Edit: I just verified, there isn't any bug. You just arrive too late to work if you go to the gym first.

i've tried a few games that incorporate real porn actors/scenes, and honestly this one is definitely pretty good for pulling that off - even if overall pretty short at the moment.

I leave the house at 7:30 to get to the garage by 8 and can never work
game always tells me i need to get stronger
I even tried editing my save and set my strength to 50 just to see and still can't work

Any chance you edited the strength before reaching 20?

I plan to allow you to choose what relationship you have with the girls (for now, as you may have seen, you can do it with Melanie). This way everyone's preferences should be satisfied.
With some girls though that isn't supposed to be possible since you, the main character, have never met them (like Ashley and Monique) and that would mess everything by the plot's point of view.
This game won't have NTR content. In the future, I plan to make a game that will allow you more freedom of choices (NTR included), but this game won't. Sorry buddy

Sorry, I forgot to answer. You can edit the money value, but do not change other variables since they may break the game. I will setup a cheat system in the future where you will be able to modify stuff without messing with the code
