For those others who find size comparisons expressed as "n times smaller" being overly convoluted: the size of the WEBP version is 40% of the JPG version (or a bit less than half).Example of the WEBP and jpg renders.with more than twice less space for WEBP.
A better comparison would be a WEBP version (or JPG for that matter) compared to PNG. There you would find the size of WEBP to be a small fraction (or percentage) of PNG.
