Ah yes, even when you say no to her, it doesn't change to locked. Maybe a glitch, or maybe there's another scene when you have to say no again.

Quick question: if I'm on a Melody only path, but open a Sophia and Xianne lesbian path, does it ruin my chances for the perfect ending in any kind of way? I also chose not to take the risk with Melody/Sophia lesbian path and have Melody and MC remain faithful to each other, but I wonder if it would have changed anything as well.

Nope, from what I saw you can let Sophia and Xianne drill each other ; it won't impact the perfect ending.
But I think the Melody/Sophia drilling will. As long as you lock that romance (the latest moment when the threesome can be unlocked), and have enough points, you should be good

Thanks, but for the sake of a consistent story, I won't resort to manually locking. I'll just keep playing the Melody only path, and see about the rest in other playthroughs.

I've tested the bad ending scene for the Bethany/Steve confrontation, and frankly, I've expected better than a dumb game over scene. I thought Mr Dots was done with that stuff after the backlash he got from it in DMD. And it happened for no other reason than MC telling Steve to call down, because the guitar magically teleported in Steve's hands even though Bethany had it. And while somewhat understandable given what this guitar meant to her, it was quite disappointing to see how easy it was for Melody to break up with MC over it.
This game over was as contrived and lazily written as the ones from DMD's first chapter. And I hear there are two more of these.
