What version are you running? Runs fine on Windows, your screen shots have a different game menu layout at bottom of the screen. Mac or Android maybe?
Tried it but few things are missing like the routes and the bar at the top to go home when at the store. Hint box is not there either.
I hate this lock pick system. It is annoying as hell. I am at the scene wit Nicole where she can't get into her room and all it says is patience is a must but it just feels like I'm taking one step forwards and falling back by 2 or 3.

Nope. It's windows, but, I am playing the compressed version. Could that be the problem. The original version is way too big.

To leave the store it's simple, just click on the store name which is after the name of the date and day of the game, you click on the store name and then you choose where you want to go, the same thing happens in the salon and anywhere else you don't know how to leave.
I just tried the compressed version and that works fine. You seem to have some kind of funky version that does not match the current version - there should be a menu buttom bottom right called devmode.
Best option would be to download it again and see if that gets it working.
