This is one of my firsts and favorites and I'll keep coming back in hope. I'm not on the Patreon or Discord, has he ever talked about maybe collaborating with someone to spread the load? I'm a 3D artist, and though I've never done this genre before, I'd volunteer to help setup scenes and renders to keep this moving and he could just focus on writing. I dunno, that's probably not realistic, I just hope to see this one finished someday.

Nef was pretty keen on keeping things close to the chest, as it were. He did all the writing and Daz artwork himself, and, as far as I know, never accepted help.
And I think we all hope to see this finished one day, especially because it felt like it was maybe 5 or 6 "chapters" from being done. It's a shame when any game gets cancelled or abandoned... but it is a real goddamn shame when an amazing game, like Midlife Crisis, gets abandoned.

(a) the dark side was already a sign of problems - I am not talking about the game itself nor blaming people for liking it, but its creation in the first place was troubling.

(b) right now we have more serious issues to worry about than that.

Yeah, and I don't blame him for that. I would have (and have had) a hard time asking for or accepting help, especially with a project like this, that's gotta be like... birthing a huge, complex, multi-headed, perverted baby.

What happened is that the dev ghosted us. We don't know why, but my guess is that he just currently doesn't have the capacity to interact with his community for mental health reasons. He might came back eventually, he might not, we don't know.

The dark version was an attempt by Nef to overcome writer's block. It is not canon for the main game at all.

Writers block? i don't think so i think life is in the way and maybe even overwhelming for the Dev.
The next ep basically rights its self the only thing needs to know is how to end the game or create a season 2 and give us a small cliffhanger.

(one can be completed when he meets Her mom all tied up and does them both) A little dark side spin off could happen here
(the other is a two ep long seduction which leads to her virginity going to him and then the brother finding out and how-to navigate that)
the to Sisters having sex with Mc and mom gets aroused watching it and Joins or goes off A good place to put a choice
the Escort becomes a part of the family
along with the secretary or not all choice based
each LI has their own story to go with the personality written and background but each can be given a lone term or short term stay with Mc based on choice given at given events of their adventure.

Yes, it is. Yet, I doubt that anyone would picked this up.
Usually the devs who could do this, have their skills (and often know that) and rather like to do their own project than picking up another one, where their are limited in their artistic freedom as they need to match the previous devs style to have a good continuation.
And the other devs, who doesn't have that mich skill, if they tried they will simple get burn - doesn't mean that could not happend with the first type of devs.

So, I highly doubt that anyone other than the dev himself will finish this project. Chance for that is, in my eyes, around the same as having the hit the lottery jackpot.

Didn't this dev get his panties all twisted when that crap with Westy went down? I think he lost his nerve, and ran away.

The game is almost over, all that remains is to add pregnancy and unite the wife and daughters.
You can get by with 2 updates, without delving into the plot - everything is ready, you need the final touch.
