Every few weeks I remember this game and check this forum. Every time I am saddened by the results.
Is there a way for another dev to pick this up where it left off or is the game dead until Nef decides to pick it up (if alive)?

What, are you saying that someone can't read Nef's mind to determine where he wanted his game to continue? With all the plot points, character development, lines of tension, the rise of conflict, the resolution? And then write in his style and with his sense of humor?

While you mentioned the most salient point - i. e. Nef's unique style - let's also not forget the issue of recreating the assets. Doable - yes. However, that alone will take some effort. Unlike Dee from Dating My Daughter, who exists in multiple parallel universes apparently, I have yet to see another Amanda.

Well, and let's be honest - that's what a lot of these people really only want when they are asking in an abandoned thread if someone can take over - they just want more images with the same character models for their spank bank. The plot set up is already in their head from Nef's work --- they just want more pictures to continue the story in their head while filling their dirty socks.

You may be correct there (oh, and I will need to do some washing tomorrow, though not for that reason, just in general clothes get dirty). However I have the impression that many people have no idea whatso-effing-ever how much work goes into a good story and good renders. They think about "it takes my PC so much time to render a still, so in a day I could do this many" or "I can write so many words in an hour" so an update should have X renders and Y new scenes after Z time passed. Never mind the programming. Actually that's not exclusive to AVNs, you can find those guy in the forums of non-adult games too, and probably other places. Like basically any media. Never mind how many franchises failed after their lost their original writers, it must be easy, right?

The biggest problem in my opinion would be the writing. For me Nef wrote THE hottest sex scenes I've ever seen in a VN and that's something that would be neigh impossible to recreate....
