Ren'Py - Completed - Midnight Paradise [v1.0f Extra] [Lewdlab]

Lewd as all hell. Love the characters, love the pacing, and especially love just how visually stimulating this one is.
This isn't one for deep storytelling, but it isn't shallow and boring either. It has a compelling character progression coupled with magnificent renders and good writing to back it up. There's no grind at all and even though at start the MC feels annoying, you kinda warm up to him as well.
What makes this story so good is just how hot it is, which isn't easy to pull off, building tension and creating scenarios in which there's a spicyness to almost every scene. Also helps that there's not 20 different girls with same personality around, and that characters are slowly introduced in the narrative and plot thickens eventually.
One caveat is that, I know that this game has been in development for a while, and I played the first version when it came out way back and now I get to play the current version which I see as a vast improvement, but a lot of time has also passed. Still, I believe in the dev for the previous game was also glorious and this one is proving to be even better. Delicious.

I appreciate the new game and the progress so far, a likeable and real MC not overly douche and not overly kind, not wimpy or overly full of himself. The renders are always good, not surprise there is a lot of FEET scene the dev has a thing for it even in the first game. hope to see more soon

After playing dreams of desire I also had high expectations for this one.

It actually is rather good. The animations and models are nice, the story is not the best but still at least interesting enough to read it.

But in the end I stopped playing it without reaching the current end. The sandbox-part and the endless grinding killed it. I cought myself clicking though all the repetetive scenes without reading anything. The multiple levels of massages, photoshoots, "go shopping with sister" and so on it's just not worth it.

I wish the dev would remove the sandbox-feature or at least reduce it to a low level only leaving options that actually matter for story parts or quests.

I am so sorry because the mother and younger sister are extremly hot but more than 50% of the playtime is grinding and that's killing the motivation for it.

Without sandbox playstyle this would have been again a 5 star game

Great fucking game, the quality of the renders is really great, the females characters are very good written, this is a game that you would definitely want to play, there is not grinding and i gotta say the story is reallyyy good like it leaves you wanting more, for me this is one of the few 10/10 games in the forum

Renders are excellent, midnight city's atmosphere coupled with the music really gives the game a vibe and I'm curious how the story will end.

Like everyone else already said, the visuals are great. The rest, not so much.

The main problem this sandbox game has, is that it's divided into two sections. One is the classic sandbox experience with 4 different times of day and multiple different locations (Bathroom, Room 1 e.g.) in which you can interact with the multiple characters during the day.
The other section are "Quests/Objectives", for which you need to progress the story sometimes, however they do not interact with the sandbox element a lot.

For the sandbox element, for each interaction with one of the main characters (Sister, Sister, Mother) you get 1 point. Every 5 points you increase your "Intimacy Lvl'' with them, which unlocks new interactions. As this game teases a lot, the natural progression for each character is something like Talk -> see naked -> touch boob -> blowjob and so on, with the end "goal" being sex. The quests are similar, but usually always are a bigger step (first blowjob for example).


So, the problem is, that the quests do not have a certain point/intimacy requirement, which leads to some stupid character progression. The main thing, is that each character has Sex with the protagonist for the first time in a "Quest". I tried to optimize day to day activities and quests to not "waste" any time slot and before I knew it, I had sex with one sister in her final quest, while during the day after in the shower in the normal sandbox mode, the dialogue was something like this.

"Oh my god, my sister looks so hot. I can't imagine how touching her boobs must feel like. I so want to fuck her but I need to be patient."

"Oh my god my he is just standing there, looking at me. I'm naked this is so wrong! But why do I kind of like it? Connor get the hell out, you're such a perv looking at you sister like that."

Immersion, ruined.

This leads to the main problem, which is that if you focus on the quests early, think that you're kinda on the same speed with the quests and the day to day sandbox element, you can completely ruin your game by breaking any immersion. On top of that, you then need to interact with a character you previously had Sex with 30 or 40 times doing teasing scenes, while every second thought/dialogue goes like "No, we can't cross that line...''

The intimacy level goes up to 80, 90 and 100 for the three characters, so the quests should have checkpoints for a certain intimacy level before doing them, this would help the game immensely.

Overall, a below average game that drags on forever and has many inconsistencies. The visuals are nice, but that's about it.

Oh, I guess I forgot about the story. Kinda fitting because it's so bland you forget it while playing aswell.

If you want to grind 10 to 15 hours with repeatable scenes, you will like this game. If you think the renders are hot, download the cheat mod and enjoy the visuals for 30 minutes.

Broken sandbox map, good graphic, and after few days, nothing happened. Installed walkthrough says stay with isabella, spent few days nothing happaned, lawyer didnt call bla bla in 33 days, nothing happened. Very unsuccessfull sandbox game. Sorry but this is how this is

The LIs are hot and visuals are more than OK, but those are the only positives here; the sandbox is so terribly boring and repetitive that it just isn't worth it. There's a quest log and a timetable and they do help somewhat at saving you some time wandering around doing useless actions, but even so you have to go home every day and do a lot of clicks just to reach your bed and sleep until the next day. Even the screen switching is slow, for whatever reason, and the world map is divided in sections so you have to remember where something is, otherwise you have to go back and try again because the developer couldn't be bothered to implement a single worldspace. Almost everything is done in a way that makes you waste as much time as possible, including a mouse pointer that is so big and simple that you miss some clicks because you have no idea where the hitzone is. Madness...

Continuity breaks every now and then. For example, your mother goes to work, then in the next scene she magically teleported back home and is now talking on the phone. The script suffers from the same problem too: in one scene you are having a nice banter with your older sister, only to have her bashing you for no reason one hour later as if you had just started all over again.

The fundamental problem here is that scenes are recycled to death, including the dialogue itself. Photo shootings, boring talk, yoga sessions, massages, sun tanning... The same old beaten crap we find in every adult game these days, only here it all progresses at such a snail pace that you virtually have to be a masochist to endure the endless grinding. In the end all the wear and tear goes to your mouse instead of where it should, if you know what I mean.

Others may find this fun but I for one can't stand this torture. Like another reviewer said, you'd be better off using a decompressor to extract the pictures and animations you like and dumping everything else.

Well that was painful.
I played the dev's other game so I didn't exactly expect Shakespeare but somehow this is even worse. I mean I don't need good writing to enjoy a porn game but the problem here is that there's so much of it and all of it sounds like it's written by a horny, 14 12 years old boy who just reached puberty. (Spoiler: that's also how the MC behaves).

The MC is one one the most stupid protagonists I ever had the displeasure of playing, the women are plain and have zero interesting qualities, the "story" if you want to call it that is generic and boring. And of course you have all the usual cliches of the genre like shower peeping, sleep rape etc.

The little enjoyment that is left is completely ruined by the horrendous sandbox gameplay, read other reviews for more details.

Ok, this sounds really harsh, andy maybe I'm being unfair but it's just frustrating to see a game with such a high production value (compared to most other porn games) to be this bad. I can't help but feel like it could be so much more.
My advice. Download the cheat mod, unlock the gallery and watch the sex scenes because imo that is the only part of the game worth playing.

And last but not least: For a game this old there is shockingly little actual sex in it.

Loved this game, amazing story and scenes, the ui is intuitive and easy to understand, the renders are very hot and the writing is very good. I don't often find myself playing one of these games for the plot but in this case is for both the plot and the hot renders.

Everything below 5 stars is a scam imho. Pretty good renders and animations, top models, very good story, setting and speed. Clean menu. I encountered no bugs. Could be a 'how to' for other sandbox games.

I think the game is simply brilliant, the graphics are great and they look well made. For those who have already played his games, it's definitely a good expansion. I'm looking forward to new content

The only sandbox game that I don't mind grinding in. There isn't much grind, i usually play while doing something else. The guide is easy to use and everything is explained quite nicely but without it it become a chore to play. the story is very generic but the characters are simply fantastic, the renders and animations are beautiful!

The music of this game is really great as well the rare times i play with music on.

I really like this game. The scenes are hot af, the story is decent, and the models are sexy. My only complaint really is the sandbox element.

Due to the way the sandbox is made, the story becomes very inconsistent, which I find immersion breaking. In the sandbox you're already doing foreplays with a character, but then when it comes to the main story you're still just at first base or second base with the character. The only way to fix this inconsistency imo is by locking certain events of the sandbox behind your progression in the main story. For example, make it so that you can't do sexy yoga with Joyce until you progress past a certain point in the main story. Otherwise, the only way for you to have a consistent story experience is by timing your sandbox events with the main story, but doing this is very annoying and tedious.

One of the best games on this site.

found this game by looking through different filters and i am very glad that i stumbled upon this game. Very good animations and character design. Not usually a fan of free roam games where you go to certain places at certain times but this is the one and only free roam game I enjoyed.

This game was once the face of Adult games when it released. Now its still good but kinda overlooked by the long period updates take. I gotta say that Joyce is for sure one of the hottest Milfs, but the delay for her content made it so bad that once it happened I was like its aight.

Midnight Paradise seems to be a pretty similar game to the previous game from Lewdlab but bigger and more expanded. This is both a positive and a negative.

Story is pretty basic, it's about some college dropout, who comes back to his home and now lives with his mother and two sisters. This is very typical premise, but it could work if it's done well enough. There also is a dad and brother, and they are involved in the main plot. There is some secrecy, intrigues and more darker themes like drugs and crime. Compared to the previous game, this one is a sandbox game. And there are a lot of sandbox events, separated from the the main plot and girls routes. There are different types of those events, and different levels, but overall thanks to first levels not offering any proper adult content, they're just dragging the game out. For example, some events have like 8 levels, you could easily remove the first 6 and game would not suffer from it. Quite the opposite actually, the game pacing would be improved. In order to unlock more levels, you have to collect affection points and build higher affection level. You getting affection points for doing sandbox events, but some of the newly unlocked events dont give you points (it's very inconsistent, some new events do give you points, some don't) so you pretty much have to do the same, old events to get points. Atleast old events when done second time have new, different dialogue. For one girl her sandbox events unlock later in the game and she has far less of them compared to the main 3 girls, but the pacing is far better and after doing like 6-8 of them you're already doing things which you would be doing with the main 3 only after doing 60-70 events. Right now, as of version 0.25, if you're doing those sandbox events alongside the main plot and girls routes, you have to play for hours to get into proper steamy content. Right now, i would say 50% of the game is just talking, teasing and groping. Those things are fine but maybe not in this quantity. Then 40% is a foreplay and finally 10% of the game is actual proper sex. There are some side chicks who have less content and thanks to that you can get something with them quicker. But with the main cast, if you're playing rather slowly doing everything there is, you won't get any penetration sex even for 20 hours. It's not great, is it. And when you reach those penetration scenes it's pretty much an end of available content right now. And since the game is supposed to end rather sooner than later i wager there won't be that much more sex content added. So basically you have hours of teasing and foreplay, one or two (depending on character) penetration scenes (plus some more in sandbox events) and that's it. While some side girls barely have any content at all. One of them have 4 scenes and 2 of them are extra scenes (more about extra scenes later). Distribution of content between all girls definitely could be a lot better.

Renders quality is pretty good for the most part, but on some of them there is very noticeable "noise". Also, sometimes i think there is too much effects, like too much blur or depth of field or something. It looks especially weird when even characters or their body parts, while being in front, are blurred. Backgrounds are good, and lighting is really good, it looks pretty realistic. Animations are solid, some of them are a bit stiff and sometimes there is some clipping. Models are great tho, especially skin look really impressive, possibly the best looking skin i have ever saw in a porn game. Feets also look very good. And finally some game with reasonable amount of feet content. I have to say that, Mom (Joyce) is like one of the best moms/milfs in the genre. Very, very good looking model. But progression with her is the worst. Only in the very recent update we'll finally be able to have sex with her. I purposely left it for last, so i was able to have sex with her for the first time after 35 hours of playtime... Scenes itself are rather good looking, pretty hot with some good dialogue. Some of the scenes could be a bit longer. There are a lot of extra and elite scenes which are accessible only from the gallery. Thats stupid, they should be integrated into the actual game. Music is pretty good, i don't believe there is a lot of tracks in the game but it works pretty ok. Music changes depending on what's happening so that's good. No sounds during scenes tho, no moaning etc, so it's a bit disappointing.

Midnight Paradise is a very difficult game to rate. Could the sandbox events be better with better pacing? Yes. Could there be more proper sex scenes and less teasing? Yes. But is the game actually enjoyable to play? Is it hot enough? Yes and yes. Despite the all negative things i had to say about this game, MP is definitely worth playing. Good visuals, great models, not terrible plot and hours of sexy content. It could be more sexy, with better pacing but still, the overall amount of renders and animations is pretty damn high. Like, right know the game just need more and more proper sex scenes: in sandbox events, in girls routes, more booty calls and sleepovers. Game just need more sex everywhere. There is already 20-30 hours of foreplay, we need something more. Midnight Paradise is a better game than 3/5 game, but its not a 4/5 game just yet. It could be a 4/5 game only when it will get more proper sex content to balance out the proportions between teasing and actual sex.

The designs are extremely detailed, the girls are pretty and there are always multiple angles.

2. Animations: 10/10
For that, I recommend using the 60 fps mod.

3. Sex scenes: 6/10

I've been playing this game for about 3-4 years now. And it's CRAZY that this game revolves around having a "pleasure pill", the MC gets the whole supply of it and then becomes rich out of it... and yet, even after 5 years of development, the MC/female characters don't use this pill EVEN ONCE.

What's even the point? Unless this game is just halfway through (which I doubt), dev wasted a gold mine of sexual content.

That being said, the sex scenes are pretty good, but they could be a lot better.

It has various intriguing mysteries going on. It's not perfect, but makes you want to find out.
