Great to see a developer mature and humble enough to admit his mistakes and be willing to go back on his decisions to solve problems instead of hiding behind the classic "I'm the dev, if you don't like my game go make your own!" The game is not lost afterallMP Development Update #6

I don't see a reason for that, they'll just change the engine tag (I think it's possible), it's the same game in a different engine.will there be a new thread open
Yea it seems to be just a straight port. All that will be needed is to switch the tag to ren'py.I don't see a reason for that, they'll just change the engine tag (I think it's possible), it's the same game in a different engine.
..they are working perfectly fine under Ren'Py while still having quality animations. Thats what they are doingJust look at what Milfy City and Water World are doing.
Yes, but I was referring to the quality of the sandbox implementations!..they are working perfectly fine under Ren'Py while still having quality animations. Thats what they are doing![]()

Maybe for the better looking (eye-candy) menu? But only Dr. Sin can answer you this question.Wait so why did they switch to unity in the first place?
From a business point of view he made the best decision to keep his "customers" satisfied and the money roll. From a developer/artist point of view, will Midnight Paradise become a second DoD in game design.Ren'py is perfect for simple VNs as that is its primary purpose. But when these games get more complex, open-world and shit like that, it gets harder to code the bigger the game gets. Unity doesn't. The problem is that Lewdlab is more focused on the rendering part of the game, and instead of learning how to properly work unity himself, he relied on outsourced coders. Well when you do something like that, it comes with its own risks. LL wasn't happy with their work, and this seems to be a regular occurrence. So instead of being continuing to be unhappy with what he was doing, he switched to what he was comfortable with. My concern now is how well he will be able to code what is supposed to be a more complex game then DoD, which was often buggy. Small bugs which were easily fixed, but buggy nonetheless.
All I can see is that the only thing that remains Constant is the bugs! Its presence is in every single game no matter how good of a dev he is..but now what matters is the difference of the bugs that might be contained making games with those engines..But without any doubt Ren'py is much more compact and Reformed from Unity. He made a Right Choice and based on his previous experience i think it adds more pace to Development Cycle!Ren'py is perfect for simple VNs as that is its primary purpose. No reason for that.We have plenty of games that switch engine and use same thread. We have even remastered games that still use same thread as the original.will there be a new thread open
Nothing is as buggy as most new releases of Unity games. It's always better to wait for fixed version of The Twist and Something Unlimited.Ren'py is perfect for simple VNs as that is its primary purpose.
