It's just getting ridiculous at the moment. There is always some excuses. ”Oh I have this bad back issue, went to doctor and all, can’t work for couple of weeks.” After that it was ”oh me and my girlfriend got covid, I can’t work because of this for couple of weeks.” This dev has had too many health issues already during his dev history. Let’s be real here, the whole covid stuff was most likely made up just to delay the MP update release from the last weekend of March to April so he could get a paycheck for April and prevent people from unpledging him right after dropping the MP update at the end of the month. And also to use covids after symptoms as a reason why he can’t work as efficiently as before, as he has done.
Then he had this ”oh my translators have been missing in action, that’s why DoD DE is not progressing at all” excuse, while he hadn’t even started doing the new scenes for it yet. He tries to talk as little as possible about it, even after multiple promises of ”weekly posts” or ”multiple posts in a week”. This man has been a decent communicator during his dev career, and now suddenly he just drops dead silent, even in his own Discord? What are you even doing, that's not how you market your products, god damn.
And there has been multiple promises of previews from DoD DE, but none of them has actually been seen after January. No, one single render as a post headliner is not a fucking preview. Suddenly always when those preview posts should be put up, the man just vanishes and comes back in a few weeks with ”news” posts without any previews of his work. However he gladly takes the paycheck every month without giving back to patrons any sight of his work. When he was actually working on MP 0.14 update, he gave weekly posts with previews and he spoke to his patrons. Why not do the same now, huh? Don't just tell people you are doing some promo stuff for DoD DE, show glimpses of that promo work to your audience who are paying your living.
He has been working on MP for 2.5 years, and now during the last half a year of that production he has made only one update for it. Instead of focusing on his WiP project, he went back to beating a dead horse, a game that was finished over two years ago. I understand, as a dev he wasn't happy how that game was, but instead of focusing on that at the middle of the progress of MP he should've finished this one first, and then go back to milk money again with DoD. Now he just created a shit show for himself that will bite him in the ass sooner or later.
