Well, i would argue that games like MotH/MM are created in a way to actually relieve some load off of developers shoulders in terms of work they have to put in, with a lot of repetitivness and grind, lots of dialogues that are just a cardboard cut-out floating over a textbox imposed on a background of a room or whatever, you know? I mean there are normal scenes in it aswell but they are few and far between it feels like.Seems like you've skipped the latest updates of MM thenAnd it's true, it is somewhat unreasonable to compare Faerin's games to this VN, since this VN is pretty much just linear slideshow without any actual game created around it, unlike MotH or MM.
And that exactly is the reason why everybody are so pissed off to VN devs like ICSTOR and Lewdlab who are just slacking and collecting the paychecks. It's a damn Ren'Py VN, it ain't rocket science to create it. Yet still this guy goes to rub his old VN instead of completing the one has been working on for two years. Midnight Paradise had some heat on it, but all that heat is just wasted now that he can't get the job done for one reason or another. To me, Midnight Paradise is a lost mess at the moment. There is too much story to be covered, and remembering Lewdlabs history with Dreams of Desire, I won't be surprised if he just takes similar shortcuts and rushes this one also to the end when he finally gets to that point in next 2.5 years. Then he can start his next game, work on it for 2 years and go polish up this one again cause "he is not happy with it".
To me Faerin games play a lot like any run-of-the-mill strip poker game made in flash, i guess different strokes for different folks.
That's because all the dick rubbing was replaced with other things like "peep on your mom while she's taking a shower 5 times to unlock next scene" and shit like that. Now there's nothing wrong with that in the context of that particular game but it wouldn't fly in a VN setting.Nah dude, Faerin delivered, and he did it in ordered fashion (to be honest, I'm actually not sure if it was too fast narrative wise).
He didn't have his characters rubbing dicks against assholes and pussies left and right, with every permutation of sex 'job' in between, before, and after and before again, without getting to sex. Instead when things reached a stage where sexual interaction was available between two consenting parties, he gave you sex.
None of this unending foreplay business that lewdlab has going on.
