That's still "modding", regardless of intent, and someone will ask how you managed to do that if it got brought up in casual conversation. <soapbox> I don't get why people insist on breaking something when it's not broken to begin with. Just play the game as it was intended or move on to a game you're content with. </soapbox>
Let's just say, hypothetically, you managed to change something in the game's code to your liking, and in this instance, I'll use Victoria as an example. You don't like her name and want to change it to something else. Let's say "Samantha" in this hypothetical... Now you're stuck on a hint and don't know what to do next, so you come on here or Discord inquiring about a hint for a "Samantha" that doesn't exist in the official game... After seeing your post about that, someone might want to know how you did that, so they can change the names of the characters in their game to something they like, and so on... See how that could be an issue?
The principle is the same, regardless if it was well intended or meant for you and you alone. None of us on the team are going to give you any pointers, even if we knew how to give you said information. And if we did, you can bet that person would not be with the team any longer. Now, if you want to pay Faerin for a game that is catered to you, I'm sure you can make arrangements with him directly.
