Can you feel the pain for those future generetions that are going to play this game? say, if 0.14 has a different download link, let's do some maths, if version 0.14 it's one download, to play all the way to version 1.0 is going to have almost 71 diffferent links to download lol
... some maths are wrong there.
If every 0.15 versions we change then...
Part 1 = up to 0.14
Part 2 = up to 0.29
Part 3 = up to 0.44
Part 4 = up to 0.59
Part 5 = up to 0.74
Part 6 = up to 0.89
Part 7 = up to 1.00
Part 8 = 1.00+
That's 7 parts ... not 71.
And honestly , it is either this OR having to download 4-5 Gig each time for an update.
Breaking everything into smaller parts helps with:
1. Less bugs as we do not have to backtrace millions of data
2. Shorter downloads
3. More flexibility as many players that are fallen behind or just discovered the game may feel lost when starting anew but with this way they can catch up by simply skipping a part or two.
4. Players who are stuck on a location (either walkthrough that they follow is wrong or incomplete) do not really need to abandon the game or beg on forums for save files. You can just skip the entire part that you are stuck. Sure you will miss lots of scenes but it is better than abandoning frustrated the game.
5. Save files are on purpose different here. This means that you revisit old scenes but simply starting the version that you like and then loading the save. If we kept 1 whole part then with amount of scenes that we have ... it will be confusing or players will end up with hundreds of save files. Each Part has it's own saves
The only down side is the slight confusion on where the next part is but Joey explains that at the beginning of Part 2.
