VN - Others - Abandoned - Milftoon Drama [v0.35] [Milftoon]

Although a few hick-ups here and there and some annoying grinding loops for money in the early version, the devs seem to be moving the game in a better direction. Compared to a lot of adult games this is a stand out one.

Pros:
Great artwork
Decent story
Decent length so far
Good amount of scenes of actual action (not 3 hours of gridning with 6 sex tease scenes to only have have one actual penetration scene at the end of the game).

Cons:
Interface and gallery are clunky (they are working on redoing these as of this review).
Characters can be a little mean, although it does make that the main character is using them to get into their pants more tolerable.

Things I would like to see in the future:
The gallery redo will have the art & animations, but no text; it would be nice if in the future they could expand the gallery to have both (like CG/Replay scenes sections for the majority of hentai visual novels).
Mini games and puzzles are better for fleshing out a porn game than money grind and time skips, IMO.
Add some shortcuts to important areas you constantly have to revisit (like the bed for time skips).
It would be nice if they could redo the older parts of the game with the current improvements, but that would be something to do after the whole thing is finished.
Milftoon Beach continuation with the experiences and knowledge you have gained from working on this game (and to continue from the cliffhanger and lame character you made players play as in the last version).

-Great characters.
-Art is beautiful.
-Gameplay normal and simple, and that's good!
-Animations are just bad. I don't know why wasted the potencial here. Why don't use other method for the animations? Maybe is less work and better result.

I follow this game from begining, and I think he could do much better by changing the latter. They could be on another level solving that issue. It deserves a remastering of the animations. You should see other methods for these.

This one had so much potential. The art style is certainly fantastic, but the gameplay is so boring and the story doesn't advance at an interesting pace. You keep doing stupid stuff in order to get lame sex scenes that could have been so much better. It leaves a lot to be desired.

Writing this review after being a fan for a longer time, and after part 3 release.

This game is absolutely excellent, worth your time, and if you have it - your money.

The scenes are sexy, the dialogue is fun, and the dev is constantly updating and improving everything about the game, which I appreciate very much.
The new part 3 addressed the issues that have been bothering me, so the creator hit a nail in the head, and Ramon made me legit laugh.
Can't wait for some more Gloria action, and I'm excited for more Milftoon drama!

The only nitpicks I would have is that sometimes the character's mouth dissapear but it goe away after continuing the dialogue, and some scenes are just so hot that others feel done in a slightly different style and losing on that effect

After a while [v0.32] All the postitive points stand, and the fixes have been applied, making this a great game after all this time.

This game has really interesting story, im really curious to see if the MC is really his dad's son. Furthermore the writting is pretty funny, the lengths the MC go to have sex makes you laugh, also every second intention behind the characters you meet. This game deserves 5 start simply because it gets better and better as you play, not only that, its probably one of the most underrated games. The developer actively participates in the community to collect feedback and give support, thats way more than 90% of any other game developer.



Game deserves 5 stars for: gets better every update (consistency), funny dialogs, good plot, hot milfs, very frequent updates.
5 reasons, 1 star for each reason hehehe.

Easily one of the most frustrating games on this website.

Positive :

The art is good , thats the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars.

Negative :

Game is filled with bugs and weird glitchy engine stuff.

The walkthough needs to be followed like a Rabbi studying the Torah. This makes a King's Quest game look like a breeze in comparison. You shouldn't have to print a walkthrough for a beat-off game.

Some of the assets in the game look godawful in the actual game

Pacing is horrible filed with busy work and tasks that don't lead to rewards big enough for the inanity

The story is boring

Conslusion :

The game has no place in what I look for from adult games. Theres two basic checks marks for me.

1) Is the game hot where can you get a decent stroke sesh out of it ?
2) Is the story or gameplay good enough to stand on its own.

The best games are going to have both , but thats a rare beast indeed. If the game is hot enough you can make it through dodgy porny story bits with huge leaps in logic and characters that have some weird paths (Moms who seem normal ... then instantly lusting for their sons).

If the story is good enough it doesn't matter its a rote VN with little choice.

This game doesn't even come close to either objective

I don't usually post negative reviews , but honestly seeing this have over 1,000 likes triggered this out of me. There are SOOOO many better games.

I can only assume the people who have given a like to this game have done so based on the pictures in the OP or are just downloading the CG rip. I can't imagine anyone is ENJOYING playing this game.

Like many others I was attracted by renders and they're really nice looking. But besides them everything else is awful. Sorry that I have to repeat what being said many times:

• The whole game is about grinding money.
• Game engine the worst I've ever seen.
• You can't play without walkthrough.
• You can't scrollback.

Summary: this game is unplayable.

Great Art, terrible engine. Great art style, I'm giving 5 stars for it, and the dev update every month without much delay. They did say they are going to change the engine for part 3 so looking forward to that. The current engine is really bad so I'm glad they will be changing it. Overall the story and art style is very good but I can't give 5 stars when the engine is really bad. Hopefully for part 3 the engine is better.

Both part 1 and part 2 are causing serious graphical issues and high usage on my GPU (RX 580). I've been able to run AAA games with solid 60 FPS for a long time, and yet this simplistic game is making my GPU go nuts.

The 'cutscenes' aren't displaying properly when I'm fullscreen, and the stats numbers keep flashing

Optimize your simple 2D game....

One of the best games with great video quality. On mac, it just blink a little bit too much, like there is a continue page refresh. But anyway, the game is fluid and the story is nice. Gameplay is easy also if there are not much "clues" during the story to what you really have to do, but it's really enjoyable.

I just found this game recently and it's just fun to play. The artwork reminds me of the video game Dragons Lair back in the 80's and animations are incredible. I've all be a sucker for cartoons. I had to play this. Yeah the females are umm very endowed lol, but that's the draw to me. It's got a sexy playful element to it. Glad I'm a supporter and can't wait to see where this project goes.

Right up my alley, art is beautifuly done and the story is pretty decent as well. It would be a 4 star but since I like the art so much I'll throw in a 5. Milfs do take the better of me but I digress...

I've read the comics of the artist working on these games, and usually find them very good, some of the best in the genre.

The second part of this game is way better than the first, which is almost a complete waste of time. So I'm moving my rating two stars up since my rating of part I. Part I is much too slow-burning for my taste.

Part II has sometimes the same annoying aspects as part I, though the unskippable dialogues occur much less often, and you can now almost always click through the terribly long dialogues.

The game play has the usual bad aspects of non renpy visual novels. And I'd really advise the devs to cut down on the dialogues.

BUT.

Even if the artist could have done a better job (the drawing line is simple, the work on body shapes for women sometimes rushed, especially compared to the excellent comics), at least the artwork has improved, and the animations are quite good. And most of all, there is a sufficient amount of sex going on to make the player want to go further.

The story is getting nice and perverted, closer to the spirit of the comics.

So even if part I is really a waste of time for those thinking about playing it, I am now actually looking forward to see new updates of part II.

I don't understand what to do I start the game and it puts me in some kind of party I know nothing about and assumes I already know the story. I have no clue what to do, the walktrough doesn't help either, I give up.

goods:

- art of characters and background is sooo nice
- dialolgs is so good
- animations is good but can be better with more fps
- story line is good
- inventory system is good
- this game have gallery and this is so good

bads:
- why this game is open world or sand box but just have one line story?
- you cant play without walkthrough
- this game is sand box but you cant go anywhere when you want
- updates and bugfixs come fast

This game is really good in terms of animations and the devs are super friendly, of course every game has it's negatives, but i can firmly say in this game the pluses outweigh the negatives by a large margin. The only big problem for me is that, the mini puzzles were really annoying in the early part of the game, but hopefully we wont see them anytime soon. All in all, the game is fantastic, and is definitely worth more than a 3 star rating that it is on right now.

Sucks because you'd need walkthrough to play it. Progress can be super specific. I mean, like really specific. I don't even understand the design choice, seriously.

The good? The artwork, obviously. The animation is really nice, the artwork is Disney-esque and colourfu. The premise is good too, the whole incest and milf stuff.

Hopefully they'll make another similar game but much more open-ended.

Been reading Milftoon's comics for many years, and really enjoy his art.

But this "game", is really bad.. It's nonsensical progress can only be done with a walkthrough, and the blinking, lack of skipping and short-lined dialog, and only-just-passable animation is too much.. Been playing each update until now, but there's not enough payoff for the time spent trying to solve the next step somewhere on the map, at some specific time, with some specific item.

It's just bad, and i don't have the patience for it.

Ok I lost patience with this game. Art work is the only reason I gave it another star. Others from that, the controls are way off. You can't skip dialogue. You can't beat this game without a walkthru ( and even that thing is confusing). I really wanted this game to succeed but it needs a lot of work

I've accidentally deleted this review 3 times now, because I have the dumb apparently. Time to summarize slightly.

I don't review games often, but every so often one comes along that I can't ignore.

Milftoon drama is a point and click adventure, taking extremely heavy cues from early 90s P&Cs. This is not a great idea, especially in this game and it's odd and poorly executed game design.

My biggest gripe, and the primary reason I rated it so poorly is the game utter fascination for taking control away from the player.

You can click through text, but not in certain "cutscenes". Don't do that. I can read faster than 4th grader, I don't need you to spoon feed the dialogue at a snails pace. To make this super clear, the dialogue in these scenes is so unreasonably slow, it's almost insulting. You know what happens when the game does this? I tab away and do literally anything else until the scene ends. Except that sometimes pauses the game or certain animations. When it decides to this particular feat of annoyance seems random.

Phone calls are the worst. Oddly you CAN skip these with the escape button, but just the phone calls(So far that I've seen). Why? Why just phone calls? I'm not even convinced it's intentional, and not just a bug breaking the scene. Mostly because it just breaks the facial details when I do it in other cutscenes, but doesn't skip them.

There's no fast forward for previously read text. Something literally every other VN is capable of doing. You have to spam click through everything. Pressing control, the usual button to fast forward, just makes the UI flicker faster then usual.


I don't mind the item hunting and general difficulty of the point and click style. I've played much worse in this regard. Yes, a walkthrough is probably required for most players and it can be a tedious nightmare, but that's pretty par for the course in P&Cs.

The lack of consistency in dialogue speed and constant need to randomly take control away from the player is far more aggravating. Quickly making this game an utter chore to play as you hunt around and spam click through dialogue you've read 40 times, only to randomly get stopped dead by a molasses slow cutscene that can sometimes take quite a while to finish.

Milftoon Drama has amazing artwork, quite possibly some of the best I've seen out of many games on this site(IMO). There's a lot of love in it, but it's marred so heavily by bad or poorly executed design choices that even that artwork can't save it. All Milftoon would have to do to earn a decent rating in my book is allow me to skip read dialogue and let me control the pace of "cutscenes". Such simple things for VN, that this game neglects to it's own massive detriment.

To say nothing of the lack of task tracking, lack of NPC hint reiteration, or even a simple hint system in general to put you back on track. Which will, if you don't pay close attention at all times, or leave the game for a while, leave you lost and wandering.

Literally the only way I would recommend this game is if you like the artwork enough to sit through all the tedium, and have the walkthrough handy to power through it faster. Doing it without a walkthrough and wrestling with it's various problems just simply isn't worth it.
