Maybe the new artist is slow and not fast at drawing like you, or maybe they plan to draw with high quality like Update 24 because Update 36 did not like many.

depends sometimes you should wait more 2 month without news and sometimes they communicated a release date but always delay and give you a new release date . In conclusion you should wait more 2 month for an update maybe 3 month

Guys wake up it's 2 months and two weeks of zero communications and no update. It's not about pledging to keep up the project. The project is alredy dead they just "forgot" to write about it, on purpose probably.
