@187 There is a file called "messages" in the same folder as the saves. Can you post the contents of it please? That should give me an insight on why the error is happening

Game loaded withoout any problem with Dev's save. Playing it now

It goes without saying that you are running the game as Administrator as the game needs access to save and load the files.

It depends on what did you do to progress.

Have you tried running it as administrator?

Yup. My user is the Administrator. I also ran as admininstrator just in case, and I got the same problem.

My game loads fine but like I said, it crashes when I go downstairs.

Try the following:
1. Load from my save
2. Go to Jason's house
3. Return Home and go to sleep
4. Go downstairs
If it works , save and always use that save. Be sure to run the game As Administrator even if you are the administrator (Right Click - Run as Administrator) when you do this

@Milftoon-Drama compatibility mode to windows 7 might be a fix. The save doesn't crash there anymore when I do this.

I am just glad that it worked for you but just to be sure , remember to save often , continue from my save and always run as Administrator (and compatibility mode to Windows 7)

Possible new best fix is to run the game in Compatibility Mode (windows 7 or below) and run as Administrator
